Option 1: Use the included aspect ratio patchers to target \BloodstainedRotN\Binaries\Win64\BloodstainedRotN-Win64-Shipping.exe within the game folder. Option 2 (works with Game Pass): Download the included trainer and unpack it with software like PeaZip. The password is pcgw Launch the game, then the tool. Press the shown keys to remove the black bars and adjust FOV as desired. To avoid upscaling, edit %LOCALAPPDATA%\BloodstainedRotN\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\GameUserSettings.ini and at the end add ResolutionSizeX=YOUR_WIDTH ResolutionSizeY=YOUR_HEIGHT and set FullscreenMode=0 Changing game settings may reset the above. Tested the latest GOG and Xbox Game Pass versions at 2560x1080, 3840x1080, 5760x1080 and 3240x2160. You can buy me a coffee here.
  2. Version 1.5

    797 downloads

The patchers and trainer remove pillarboxing from the game, resulting in more horizontal FOV. Some of the in-game images and cutscenes do not appear to be wide enough to fully fill the screen, but the main cutscenes, menu and gameplay become free of black bars. Use one of the patchers to modify \ChildrenOfMorta_Data\Managed\Assembly-CSharp.dll within the game folder. For the Game Pass version, use the included trainer at 21:9 - the password for the 7zip archive is pcgw. Tested briefly at 21:9, 32:9 and 48:9 in the latest GOG and Game Pass versions. Resolutions wider than 21:9 were affected by severe terrain visibility issues. You can buy me a coffee here.
  3. Version 2.0.1

    811 downloads

Option 1 (patchers): Unpack the patcher archive and use the applicable tool to patch the exe in \MoonMan\Binaries\Win64\ within the main folder. This will adjust FOV to match the vertical of 16:9. The tool also aims to remove all pillarboxing except from pre-rendered cutscenes but this may come at the cost of reduced FOV in the starting cutscene. Some further cutscenes are confirmed as having more horizontal FOV but there is no way to guarantee every cutscene will display correctly without playing through the game. Option 2 (trainer, supports Microsoft Store): Unpack the trainer / Game Pass archive with software like 7zip - the password is pcgw Launch the game Launch the tool Press the black bars removal key before a cutscene and use the other buttons to adjust FOV as desired Tested the latest GOG and Microsoft Store versions at 2560x1080, 3840x1080 and 5760x1080. You can buy me a coffee here.
  4. Version 3709.4

    911 downloads

Download the archive, unpack it with 7zip or similar software, then point the patcher matching your aspect ratio at \TSCGame\Binaries\Win64\TSCGame-Win64-Shipping.exe within the game folder. This will match the FOV to the default 16:9 vertical value and remove the pillarboxing from the dialogue scenes. Tested at 2560x1080, 3440x1440, 3840x1080 and 5760x1080.
  5. Version 2.0.1

    2,753 downloads

The mod previously removed pillarboxing from the gameplay and menu, letterboxing from the cutscenes and adjusted FOV at 21:9 and wider resolutions. As of update 1.028a, the game only needs FOV adjustment to compensate for the reduced vertical FOV at the cutscenes at 21:9 and wider. The tool allows for real-time FOV adjustment affecting both the cutscenes and the gameplay. As any trainer based on CE components, it may trigger some anti-virus software. Use software like 7zip or PeaZip to unpack the archive. The password is pcgw Launch the game first, followed by the tool. Enable custom FOV adjustment and tweak FOV to preference. Tested the latest Steam version at 2560x1080, 3840x1080 and 5760x1080. The game copy was generously funded by AlRayes of Ultrawide Benchmarks. You can buy me a coffee here.
  6. Version 20190708

    4,467 downloads

Unpack the archive with software like 7zip, then patch the main game exe with the tool. This will remove the letterboxing (black bars) from the game, resulting in more vertical FOV than ever before. There will be some vertical stretching of the menu and subtitles. If you have the game on Steam, you will first need to adapt and follow the first steps of my DQB2 guide in order to apply the patcher. Such are the rules! Support with a donation.
  7. Version 2.0

    2,278 downloads

These solutions for 2560x1080, 3440x1440, 32:9 and 5:4 resolutions will remove the black bars from the game. Pre-rendered cutscenes, subtitles and some of the UI elements will be stretched. Unpack the applicable archive with software like 7zip - the password is pcgw If using the trainer, make sure the game is launched before it. After applying the fixes with the hotkeys, change the display mode to fullscreen or borderless and apply. Tested the latest EGS and Steam versions at 2560x1080, 3440x1440 and 3840x1080. You can buy me a coffee here.
  8. Version 2.1

    542 downloads

Unpack the included trainer with software like PeaZip (password is pcgw) and apply the fix after launching the game. This will turn the gameplay and menu FOV from vert- (less vertical) to hor+ (more horizontal). The few pre-rendered cutscenes and the tutorial sprites will remain vert-, while the loading screens and bonus artwork will be stretched. Tested at 3840x1080 and 5760x1080. You can buy me a coffee here.
  9. Version 2.5

    72 downloads

The tool previously allowed to change field of view but as of the May 12, 2020 game update, there is an FOV slider in the game. Now it only allows to remove black bars from the game. Unpack the archive with software like 7zip - the password is pcgw Run the game, followed by the tool Press the shown key to allow for modding at any time Press the black bars removal key - ideally when they first appear All tools based on CE components may trigger some anti-virus software. Tested the latest EGS Vulkan and DX12 game versions at 2560x1080, 3840x1080 and 5760x1080. The pillarboxing removal functionality is reliable while the kill cam black bars removal will need continued updates of this tool. You can buy me a coffee here.
