Blacksad: Under the Skin ultrawide mod 1.0

4 Screenshots

About This File

The patcher makes the game use ultrawide and wider resolutions.

  1. Patch the game file as instructed by the tool.
  2. Remove %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\PenduloStudios\Blacksad\config.bs if present.
  3. Launching the game should have it default to the desktop resolution, regardless of what is displayed in the settings.

Making changes to Video - Advanced settings 1 will reset the resolution. Restart the game to have it return to the proper resolution after applying any graphics settings within that menu.

Tested the latest GOG version briefly at 2560x1080 and 5760x1080

Antivirus detect ejecutable like a trojan.......

That's the way some AV engines tend to react to packed executables. A moderator informed me of the matter so I remade the patcher. However, it is not uncommon for game hacks to be false flagged as malware.

I also sent the file to Microsoft for review. It is no longer getting false flagged by Microsoft anti-virus software. You can check it with VirusTotal to verify.

Provided you have followed each step, the resolution shown in the game is likely inaccurate. Do you notice any stretching? You can also take a screenshot and look at its resolution to make sure it's 3440x1440.

when I play games the video quality seems to be good, but the HUD and the screenshot are in 1280x768

Can you share a few of the screenshots, preferably of the first level of the game so I could try to reproduce the issue if necessary?

Thanks. 3840x2560 is a 3:2 resolution and 1280x768 is 15:9 but what we're seeing in the screenshots - knowing the image fills the screen on your end - matches the horizontal FOV of 21:9.
As such, I would disregard the issues as they do not affect the gameplay. Similarly to my general Dragon Quest Builders 2 mod advice, I would suggest taking screenshots with Shadowplay or any other third-party tool.

The patcher unlocks 21:9 and any other resolutions unavailable in the game, however the UI will be too cropped to navigate every settings menu at anything wider.

Played the latest Steam demo at 2560x1080 for about 30 minutes and very briefly at 3840x1080 to test the solution.
Please leave a comment to let me know how it works in the full Epic version.

Tested the latest EGS Vulkan and DX12 game versions at 2560x1080, 3840x1080 and 5760x1080.

The patcher replaces some of the existing game resolutions with common ultrawide resolutions, allowing for extra horizontal FOV.
Unpack the archive and launch the patcher Target and patch DQB2_EU.exe (English/Europe) or DQB2_AS.exe/DQB2.exe (Asia) . In the configuration tool, 1920x1080 will correspond to 2560x1080 2560x1440 will correspond to 3440x1440 3840x2160 will correspond to 3840x1080 2048x1152 will correspond to 5120x1440 Known issues:
UI stretches from 16:9. Screenshots taken through Steam are at 16:9. Shadowplay and other tools can be used instead. Tested the latest full and demo Steam versions at 2560x1080, 3440x1440, 3840x1080 and briefly 5120x1440 borderless.
