      All credit goes to drennan a gog user I'm simply sharing the mod for preservation purposes.

      Drennan made the following mod and said this about it:
      This mod hides certain elements of the XIII user interface.
      To install, copy HUDFree.u and HUDFree.int into the System subfolder of your
      XIII folder. In the same folder, edit XIII.ini:
      Replace the value of the DefaultGame key with HUDFree.XIIIHUDFreeGameInfo in
      the Engine.Engine section of XIII.ini, like this:
      [Engine.Engine]
      DefaultGame=HUDFree.XIIIHUDFreeGameInfo
      Add the following section to XIII.ini to fine-tune what exactly is hidden:
      [HUDFree.XIIIHUDFreeHUD]
      bShowHealth=False
      bShowWeaponsItems=False
      bShowObjective=False
      bShowDialog=True
      bShowEndMessage=False
      bShowSave=False
      bShowPickup=False
      bShowOthers=False

      Download the archive intended for your aspect ratio, unpack it and replace the original exe found in \UMonster\Binaries\Win64\ within the game folder.
      This should remove the pillarboxing from the menus and the gameplay.
      Tested at 2560x1080 and 3840x1080 with the latest EGS game version kindly provided by cheswick of /r/ultrawidemasterrace.

      Download the archive, unpack it with 7zip or similar software, then point the patcher matching your aspect ratio at \TSCGame\Binaries\Win64\TSCGame-Win64-Shipping.exe within the game folder.
      This will match the FOV to the default 16:9 vertical value and remove the pillarboxing from the dialogue scenes.
      Tested at 2560x1080, 3440x1440, 3840x1080 and 5760x1080.

      These patchers created for 2560x1080, 3440x1440 and 32:9 resolutions will remove the black bars from the game.
      Unpack the archive with 7zip or similar software, then only use the patcher matching your resolution to modify the game executable.
    • By Rose
      This tiny patch will unlock the 21:9 aspect ratio in the game menu, allowing to select ultrawide and many other resolutions under "???" for extra FOV.
      Option 1: Download globalgamemanagers and paste it over the original file in \OuterWilds_Data\ found in the game folder.
      Option 2: Download the patcher archive, unpack it with 7zip or similar software, then use it to patch the original file in the aforementioned game folder.
