  4. Half-Life Decay: Solo Mission demo - 4:3 menu fix

    The menu background for the demo version of the upcoming mod Half-Life Decay: Solo Mission. The vanilla mod's main menu image is stretched at aspect ratios other than 16:9. Seeing as GoldSrc shares resolution settings between games, and most GoldSrc games are designed for 4:3, I figured I wouldn't be the only person bothered by this, and made a simple mod to fix this. The mod will probably also work in the full version when that releases, but will require renaming a folder.
     
    If playing in 4:3, you'll probably also want to edit decaysolodemo/userconfig.cfg to modify the default_fov value. If an FOV isn't defined elsewhere, then just removing the string will work; otherwise just set it to a more sane value like 90.

    Usage
     
    Use [Numpad *] to set value to 85, [CTRL] to 95 or 105 with [ALT] or 68.33000183 (default) with [CTRL]+[ALT]. Use [Numpad -] and [Num +] to increase/decrease value by 1 or 5 with [CTRL] or 10 with [ALT]. Check the FOV box on the left to prevent the value from changing. All values can be changed by editing the hotkeys on the FOV variable line (right click it then CTRL+H to show the hotkeys menu).

    The zip file contains files that serves as a workaround and a bypass for the Access violation error that happens in After the End when trying to complete Mission 42 and other bugged missions mentioned in its page in PCGamingWiki, method 1 involves playing the broken level and finishing it as is, which is intended for players who want to use their own save, this is done by installing an older trial version of the game and opening the save on a broken level the player has in it, the dll included within the method1 folder is a dgVoodoo D3D8 wrapper which can be used if in case the mission still can't be played, while method 2 involves skipping the broken missions altogether, which is for players who don't mind using an another save, method 3 is a newly discovered method which is used along with method 1, it fixes the black floor bug which one will get when playing on the older version of After the End which involves swapping the resource.tdf file.
