The Evil Within ultrawide fix & FOV changer (Game Pass & Epic)

9 Screenshots

About This File

The tool for the Microsoft Store version of the game is based in part on the Flawless Widescreen findings by HaYDeN, removing black bars from the game and allowing to change the third-person and first-person field of view in real time.

  1. Unpack the archive with software like 7zip or PeaZip using the password pcgw
  2. Launch the game, followed by the tool.
  3. Enable the black bars fix and press Alt+Enter in the game twice to properly adjust the aspect ratio. Alternatively, enable the fix at the loading intro screens.

All trainers containing CE components may trigger some anti-virus software.

Tested the latest Game Pass version primarily at 2560x1080, briefly at 3440x1440 and 3840x1080.

Is there any way to get this to work at 5120x1440. The image just becomes stretched at that resolution.

I think you are missing step 3 of the instructions. Tested today and that worked fine.

If you are using McAfee Virus Protection. Open up the app - Navigate to real time scanning - under excluded files click Add File - navigate to the unpacked mod and add it so that you can actually launch it.

Just wanted to say that the fix works great! thanks. you gotta go to your anti virus program and allow it though!

Also for anybody who has a screen with higher than 60hertz (refresh rate) and wants to cap it to 60 fps if you enable the the console and write R_swapinterval -1 the game will go to 60 fps but if you have a higher refreshrate it will still seem laggy, I went into the nvidia control panel > 3d settnings then select the game and at the bottom, you can set so the game decides refresh rate, and this made the game much less laggier cuz im guessing 60 hz and 60 fps in this old game runs much smoother.

You can enable the console with the run command +com_allowconsole 1

and then press insert when you have lanched the game.

then you can write R_swapinterval 0 or -1

0 is uncapped fps while -1 is 60 fps

i use 60 cuz my graphics card burn up xD

you can also do +R_swapinterval 0 in the run command line to launch the game with fps cap off, if you dont want to open the console in game.
