This is a generic 32-bit version of the InstallShield 5 setup engine. This file can be used as a replacement installer for games that use 16-bit versions of InstallShield 5.
To determine if the game uses InstallShield, check the list of files that are in the setup directory (normally, there should be a dedicated folder for the installer somewhere on the game disk). If the file "_inst32i.ex_" is included, then the game uses InstallShield in some form.
From there, the version of the installer currently used needs to be verified to ensure that the replacement file will work. In the setup folder, find a "SETUP.EXE", "SETUP32.EXE", or other similarly named files. Once the installer is found, right click it, select "Properties", and go to the "Version"/"Details" tab. If the "Product version" and/or "File version" fields have a value along the lines of 5.xx.xxx.x, then the game uses version 5 of the setup engine and is compatible with this file.

had this working last night after downloading but today i can't get DMC4SE to run with this fix, even after reinstalling/verifying files etc. 3840x1600 i've tinkered with SUWSF.ini just to try and troubleshoot which patch is causing ctd and it seems to be patch 1, the game boots with 2 and 3 still enabled any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated -
Hey all! I got it working with ReShade and Special K! Steps: - Install Special K (UnX) first. Rename it's dxgi.dll to backup_dxgi.dll (or anything you want) just to enable you to install ReShade. - Install ReShade, choose DirectX 10/11/12 (second option, if it already didn't select it automatically). I am using PS2-Inspired Reshade Preset so I choose it's .ini for ReShade to download everything automatically. Finish Installation normally. - Go to specialk folder - C:\Use -

whenever i set custom resolution it just makes the screen really small -
This fix works to eliminate the frame rate drops when in the menus (which the compatibility toolkit based fix doesn't for me, despite me running Windows 10), but I can't get the window border back even though I set WindowModeBorder to 1. Scrolling also seems to be really fast now.
