unofficial patch Deus Ex: Revision - 1.6.3 to 1.7.3.1 GOG Patch

Hey, it's not true, I mean Deus Ex 1.6.3 Revision mod distributed on GOG doesn't requires a GOG Galaxy launcher to run.

Out of curiosity I installed it now and when I ran it, it didn't launch Galaxy at all, it started regularly like every other GOG game.

According to GOGDB on 2025-06-02, removed/added same version number 1.112fm(Revision 1.6.3.0), so maybe changed this behavior.

Maybe you could try again the mod and update the description 🙂

(I don't know if anything else was changed in the 2025-06-02 update and if your patch also needs to be changed)

UPDATE 🙂

I found "Deus Ex" and "Deus Ex: Revision mod" offline installers I had archived in 2022, as I said same version, tested with WinMerge with those downloaded yesterday, it detects them identical.

I then installed the version archived in 2022 (after uninstalling yesterday one - and restarting the PC just in case).

Launching the mod doesn't run GOG Galaxy.

I may have figured out what happened, though.
Could it be that when you tested it you ran it via the "Launch" button at the bottom right of the installation window?

 

In that case GOG Galaxy runs, but if instead you exit the installation and run the game from the links that are generated, only the game runs.
