I'm loving your patch @Steam006. I do have one question. When using the new savesystem, do I have to manually adjust ActionLevel and RiddleLevel values in the ini? Does using the new save system mean selecting the Action Level and Riddle Level normally on the main screen does nothing anymore?

If you leave them at the default value in the ini (zero for ActionLevel and 4 for RiddleLevel) your menu choices will be used.

I downloaded the new version of the file (I was using an old one from around November) and it deleted my save. Copying savedata from a backup didn't restore it. Any way to fix?

Did you have the new save system enabled in the ini on the old version?

I checked both the .ini files in the install directory and I didn't see any new save system settings. So I'm going to assume I did not have it enabled.

Hi!

I followed the installation instructions, however when I try to start the game via DLLInjector, it says "Failed to inject dll, fatal error--> 2.0"
Though, interestingly, when I was trying to replicate this to get the error word-for-word, it almost worked before giving me "No disc inserted."

Would I have to mount the iso/have the disc inserted for it to work?
I thought I may have messed up the Silent_Hill_3_PC_Fix.ini settings while I was trying to configure it, but overwrote it with the unedited version and it resulted in the same error.

Edit: I figured it out 🙂 Happy to report that it works just fine!

I'm glad you got it working. The error you got is a timeout error, sometimes slower PCs or some antivirus software can cause it to appear. I will tweak it for the next update.

Hi, I got the new version from Feb 13 2021, but the picture and 4:3 preservation don't seem to be working, except for FMVs. Do you know what might be going on here? (I'm not sure exactly what 4:3 elements you preserved.)

When I try to start this, I just get an Entry point no found error.

I removed Xinput Plus and now I get no CD error.

every time I try to run the game using DLLInjector.exe I get a message saying that "The game is not properly installed.", even tho I can normally start up the game via sh3.exe 😞

edit: I managed to make it work! turns out I'm just dumb 🙂

Could anyone let me know what I'm doing wrong?

I downloaded the link and now I am unable to copy the files into the game because of a "Unknown error"

No sorry.

That's a bummer 😞

One more question, does your fix work with both American and European versions?

Yes, American is on 5 CDs while European is on 1 DVD, I don't know if they use different executables. Which one are you using?

Yes, there are 2 versions, US (5 CDs) and European (1 DVD).

US = English and Japanese language

Eur = Multi 5

Your patch/fix doesn't work on the Eur one (the version I have), the game doesn't start at all.

Please help!!! In the instructions, it says to start the game with the DLLInjector.exe, however, I am getting this error when I try to run it (also occurs when I try to run as admin): "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

probably your AV detected it as a false trojan and deleted the file and now Windows doesn't find it. Before starting dllinjector.exe, add the .exe file to you AV exclusion list/trusted application list.
