About This File

Unpack the archive and use the patcher to target \WindowsNoEditor\ctts\Binaries\Win64\ctts-Win64-Shipping.exe in the main game folder.

This will result in the game's 21:9 FOV matching the default 16:9 FOV.

Tested game version 113 on Epic at 2560x1080.

113 is still the latest version of my press copy but I made the exe into a patcher that should work with all versions. Give it a try and let me know of the outcome.

Works great thanks! Although Norton Antivirus tried to quarantine it thinking it is a WS.Reputation.1 threat.

Awesome. Thank you for updating me on it. The "reputation" type of detection is probably related to the file being new to the internet, which is natural considering I created it today! In general, some false flagging is expected when it comes to patchers, trainers and other tools used to hack games.

Also is there any way I can fix the stretching for the screen edges? Will the FOV mod fix it ?

Are you referring to the fisheye lens effect? I'm not seeing it in my screenshots but if it's there, that's simply how the game is displayed at higher FOV. The patcher doesn't adjust anything but that.

Yes it is the fisheye lens effect. I tried the FOV changer but it doesn't seem to have any effect when I press F7 or F8.

The game features FMVs and rendered cutscenes that get pillarboxed at 21:9 and wider resolutions.
This patcher removes the black bars from the rendered cutscenes and has no effect on the FMVs as there is no way to hack a pre-recorded video to add more content.

Simply unpack the archive and patch the main game exe.

Tested the latest Steam version at 2560x1080 and briefly at 5760x1080 in both DX modes.

Unpack the files to the game folder so that they are next to Observation.exe to remove the cinematic letterboxing (horizontal black bars).

Tested the latest version at 2560x1080 and 1680x1050 on the first and one of the last levels.
Let me know in the comments if you still come across letterboxing and attach your save files so I can take a look.

By default, Mafia II Definitive Edition not only adds black bars to all cutscenes at 21:9 and wider but also simultaneously vertically "crops" pre-recorded FMVs.
The two included patchers serve as two options (don't use both!):
Remove all black bars - FMVs stay cropped (vert- from 16:9). Remove black bars only from rendered cutscenes and fix FMV scaling. Tested the latest Steam version primarily at 2560x1080, briefly at 3440x1440 and 5760x1080.
