About This File

OpenAL 2.1.0.0 extracted from a Creative driver installer. This is an official update and is newer than the version on Creative's site.

Games that include OpenAL32.dll will not use the updated file unless you delete or replace the game's own version to make it see the new one instead.

libEGL.dll retrieved from Next Up Hero, from NextUpHero\GameGuide\Streamer\bin\32bit\libEGL.dll, on the 2018-12-15.
Extract to the same folder as Chrono Trigger.exe, so to Steam\steamapps\common\Chrono Trigger.

Hello everyone, I would like to clarify why my editing in the article on sound is constantly canceled?
      https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Glossary:Sound

Here is the evidence on the pictures below about the difference in sound on the spectrograms.
As you can probably notice, that on Windows 10 samples are more identical to the original, rather than on Windows 7.

      Used materials in this tests

      Source sound

      Windows 10 on Realtek

      Windows 10 on Creative G1

      Windows 7 on Realtek

      Windows 7 on Creative G1

The peculiarity of this behavior in terms of sound in Windows 7 was caused by the introduction of DRM at the development stage of Windows Vista, which is also easily confirmed by reading the development literature.

To carry out this test, recording through the line input via the built-in sound card with the help of Audacity was used and then the results were transferred to the schedule through the Spek.
The conditions were the same (Volume 80% output and input) and the same player Foobar2000 on default settings (no asio/openal and ks with wasapi exclusive for output) was used.

For very talented people, I note that the sound system has remained the same since Windows Vista, but has been significantly reworked: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/windows-10-has-better-sound-quality-than-windows-7-on-my-computer-not-necessarily-yours.789224/
Especially it is important for the old and not-so games that use DirectSound.
And for those who like to listen to music, and especially in a high quality, because windose 10 does not force you to use all sorts of workarounds crutches mentioned above.

This is a pack containing a compiled OpenAL Soft libraries and softwares for Linux use. It was compiled by me (KayX291) in order to help newcomers with using OpenAL Soft without trying to compile it by themselves. It can be used for specific software which uses OpenAL or use it in your system as a replacement.

The main difference between OpenAL and OpenAL Soft is the fact that the latter is not only open source, but also a support for mono, stereo, 4-channel, 5.1, 6.1, 7.1 and HRTF output. But with the configurator, you can customize and even enhance the sound output with filters, effects etc.

      It contains:
      - OpenAL Soft libraries
      - OpenAL Soft GUI Configurator
      - HRTF files
      - alsoftrc sample file
      and more.

They are available in both 32 bit and 64 bit versions.

      Dependencies required:
Qt5 and pressumably SDL2 (For GUI configurator to work)

      Compiled on:
      ArchLinux - 64 bit
      Manjaro 17.0.6 (via VirtualBox) - 32 bit

      Credits
      Loki Software for OpenAL
      KCat for OpenAL Soft
      Me for compiling em

This is the atiumdag.dll file v8.14.10.761. It is for fixing rendering issues in games with AMD/ATI GPUs.

The file should only be used with game fixes that specifically link to this version. It should not be used in any other case.

      General installation instructions:

To install it, extract the file to the folder where the main game executable resides. Accept any overwrite dialog windows that may appear.

NOTE: It is recommended to backup any existing version of the DLL file in the game folder before overwriting it.
