It seems that games running on Source 2013 Multiplayer only work without Steam if maxplayers is set to 1. This does make actual multiplayer games useless, but should mean that singleplayer games using the MP branch, like the latest builds of Hunt Down the Freeman should, in theory, be playable without Steam.

Certainly, especially since the main EN releases use StarForce.

Version 2

This mod restores the voice grunts which are present in the console versions of Lego Indy 2, but are missing from the PC version. All sounds have been sourced from the uncompressed WAV files in Lego Indy 1 when possible. The sounds in the Donovan and Spalko folders have been converted from the compressed DSP files from the Wii version of Lego Indy 2. The menu background for the demo version of the upcoming mod Half-Life Decay: Solo Mission. The vanilla mod's main menu image is stretched at aspect ratios other than 16:9. Seeing as GoldSrc shares resolution settings between games, and most GoldSrc games are designed for 4:3, I figured I wouldn't be the only person bothered by this, and made a simple mod to fix this. The mod will probably also work in the full version when that releases, but will require renaming a folder. If playing in 4:3, you'll probably also want to edit decaysolodemo/userconfig.cfg to modify the default_fov value. If an FOV isn't defined elsewhere, then just removing the string will work; otherwise just set it to a more sane value like 90. Thanks to Mr. Mendelli for helping with de-stitching the vanilla background. -

Information on where games are cut / censored
SirYodaJedi replied to stuttgart's topic in Articles and troubleshooting
IIRC, this is usually added as a key point ({{--}}) under the availability table. It might be in the "Version differences" section for pages that have that, but that section's content usually is folded into the availability key points if there aren't a significant number of different versions. Extensive elaboration on how things are censored would probably belong in an external link or in a {{note}}. -
That's... a bit of a generalization; there are a gazillion types of disabilities, and a game that is accessible to one group of disabled individuals may not be accessible to a different group of disabled individuals. That said, someone was working on adding more accessibility options to the stuff that is documented about the games (like how we have boxes for colorblind mode and closed caption support), I don't know how that's coming along, but I'd love to see it implemented.

is deleting some of our edit history possbile?
SirYodaJedi replied to handlingcfg's topic in Development
You can request edits be anonymized or privatized, but previous edits are usually not deleted unless they contain personally identifying data or illegal materials. If it's just inaccurate information, then that's no big deal; the page always shows the latest revision, and you have to be actively looking at the edit history to read old versions. And we all make mistakes (especially on collaborative wikis), no shame in having old edits that aren't your best work. EDIT: Also, Garbot is a bot, so it cleans up stuff that even the most seasoned of editors can't be arsed to do. -

This is a replacement for the original 8-bit 64x64 icon for System Shock 2. It uses the super-high-res render of Shodan available with the GOG version of the game. The "ubersize" icon goes up to 1024x1024. The regular icon posits a more practical 256x256. Comparison: https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/gallery/album/155-system-shock-2-icon-comparison/ -

You can also do this on PCGW by clicking the "purge cache" option on the "more" dropdown menu in the upper right hand corner of the page.
