Blacksad: Under the Skin ultrawide & wider mod

About This File

The patcher allows to select 21:9 and wider resolutions in the game, removing the black bars.

  1. Patch the game file as instructed by the tool.
  2. Launch the game and select your resolution in the settings to avoid stretching.
(sometimes the resolution may be listed under 16:9)

Tested on the latest Steam version briefly at 2560x1080 and 3840x1080.

Antivirus detect ejecutable like a trojan.......

That's the way some AV engines tend to react to packed executables. A moderator informed me of the matter so I remade the patcher. However, it is not uncommon for game hacks to be false flagged as malware.

I also sent the file to Microsoft for review. It is no longer getting false flagged by Microsoft anti-virus software. You can check it with VirusTotal to verify.

Provided you have followed each step, the resolution shown in the game is likely inaccurate. Do you notice any stretching? You can also take a screenshot and look at its resolution to make sure it's 3440x1440.

when I play games the video quality seems to be good, but the HUD and the screenshot are in 1280x768

Can you share a few of the screenshots, preferably of the first level of the game so I could try to reproduce the issue if necessary?

Thanks. 3840x2560 is a 3:2 resolution and 1280x768 is 15:9 but what we're seeing in the screenshots - knowing the image fills the screen on your end - matches the horizontal FOV of 21:9.
As such, I would disregard the issues as they do not affect the gameplay. Similarly to my general Dragon Quest Builders 2 mod advice, I would suggest taking screenshots with Shadowplay or any other third-party tool.

Thank you for your work. Is this mod still working with the last patch? I have a similiar problem, that the resolution after patching ist only 1280x768. Any idea what im doing wrong?
