  1. Astalon - Tears of the Earth - FPS Unlocker

    This is a program to unlock the framerate in the game Astalon: Tears of the Earth. It's made with Cheat Engine so some Antivirus software will flag it. Extract the archive with the password pcgw

    The game has a forced 60 fps cap and no Vsync, and from my testing it also has issues with freesync/gsync so it's pretty bad. With this tool you can unlock the FPS which will eliminate input lag and get really smooth motion on camera panning. Since you will probably get 1000+ fps, if you want an fps limit use the Scanline Sync feature from Riva Tuner Statistics Server, which will cap it your refresh rate, eliminate judder and tearing with almost no input lag.
    Instructions:
    Extract the archive with the password pcgw Open the tool. Start the game. It should get patched automatically and you should hear a sound effect, otherwise press F1.

  4. DirectPlay standalone (without Windows ask for installation)

    Both zip-files provide the "DirectPlay" files needed to execute games that ask for them to work correctly. (One zip contains Windows XP DirectPlay, and the other contains Windows 10 Legacy DirectPlay, both do the same).
    * Important: Put all the files of one of the two zip-files in the same directory where the executable of the game is.
     
    -Tested on Windows 10 - 22H2, and working with the next games (Those games are working with XP and Win10 files):

    How to install:
        -Drag and drop DINPUT8.dll in the game folder file, should be something like: Steam\steamapps\common\Dishonored2
        -Launch the game as you would normally and you will hear 2 beeps that will confirm that the mod is now active.
            
    How to uninstall:
        -Delete DINPUT8.dll from the game folder file.

    Those are the 64-bit binaries for Crysis and Warhead expansion. It allows the game to be run as a native 64-bit application, providing various benefits and enhancements. This version is based on GOG binaries, which are the only, truly clean ones and older version is based on cracked DVD binaries, which provide less stability.
     
    Instructions
    Extract the contents of the download to the Crysis installation folder. Run the crysis.exe file in the newly added folder (Bin64) to play the game. (Optional) Add a shortcut to the desktop for easier access. For the Steam version, there is a way to make the Steam client launch the 64-bit version by default. In the Crysis properties on Steam, put this in the launch options: "{path to the Steam folder}\steamapps\common\Crysis\Bin64\Crysis.exe" %command%

  17. Half-Life Decay: Solo Mission demo - 4:3 menu fix

    The menu background for the demo version of the upcoming mod Half-Life Decay: Solo Mission. The vanilla mod's main menu image is stretched at aspect ratios other than 16:9. Seeing as GoldSrc shares resolution settings between games, and most GoldSrc games are designed for 4:3, I figured I wouldn't be the only person bothered by this, and made a simple mod to fix this. The mod will probably also work in the full version when that releases, but will require renaming a folder.
     
    If playing in 4:3, you'll probably also want to edit decaysolodemo/userconfig.cfg to modify the default_fov value. If an FOV isn't defined elsewhere, then just removing the string will work; otherwise just set it to a more sane value like 90.
