  3. Starship Titanic Patch 1.00.42c

    From the included readme file:

    Starship Titanic Patch 1.00.42c

    Purpose

This patch file is only for users experiencing difficulty with Starship Titanic on video cards with less than 1Meg of video memory, the symptom of which is Starship Titanic failing to start up. There are three versions of this patch available for v1.00.42, v1.00.42a, and v1.00.42b to v1.00.42c. Check your startup game panel for the version number you have.

    How To Apply The Patch

If you are reading this document, then you have successfully unzipped the ST42c.ZIP file. In addition to this document, there should also program file called STPATCH.EXE. You will need this to apply the patch (this file actually is the patch).

In order to apply this patch, you must already have installed Starship Titanic onto your system. If you have not already done this, consult the documentation that came with Starship Titanic for details.

Assuming you have Starship Titanic already installed, then to install the patch, do the following:

    · Run the STPATCH.EXE program you downloaded as part of the ZIP file.
    · It will ask you where the file to be patched is - this is where Starship Titanic was installed. Use the dialog to locate the correct folder in your system (look for the ST.EXE file, as this is the file that will be updated). The default installation folder is "C:\Program Files\The Digital Village\Starship Titanic", but if you chose to install to a different folder, you must point the patch program at that folder instead.
    · When you think you have found the right folder, and you can see the ST.EXE file in the file list, click OK.
    · The patch program will ask for confirmation - confirm and the patch will be applied to the game.
    · You should receive confirmation if the patch was applied successfully.

Now you should run Starship Titanic as normal, and the newly patched version should work.

Each file is ~28 MB in size.

Added ability for hosts to specify score values for tags, frags and other mode-specific actions.
Added FX to weapon respawn locations.
Added the Server name and IP to system menu when connected to a remote host.
Added the server name to client score screens.
Added the ability for hosts to restrict any weapon, ammo type or gear item from the game.
Added functionality to select custom mods and resources from the launcher.

    Gameplay Tweaks:
Added a 30 second countdown timer for multiplayer games with a time limit set.
    Increased multiplayer headshot damage somewhat.
Increased the max deathmatch score limit to 100.
Increased the max deathmatch time limit to 60.
Lowered the splash damage radius of micromissiles somewhat.
Increased the damage and accuracy of the Gordon SMG.
Removed snowmobile radar icons from deathmatch to reduce radar clutter.
Fire bolts have been improved! They now cause mild splash damage and leave behind a residual flame that will burn anyone who walks through it.
Player bodies in co-op mode now fade to searchable backpacks.

    Bug Fixes:
Fixed a bug that would cause the game to crash when launching standalone server from within the game.
Fixed several memory leaks and crashes that were causing instability in dedicated servers and problems with load times in singleplayer.
Improved singleplayer quickload times by 33-50% (Depending on level).
Fixed the bug that was preventing the player from automatically un-holstering their weapon after dismounting a snowmobile.
Fixed a bug that was preventing minimum spec machines from performing well as dedicated servers. Bandwidth limitations still apply.
Fixed problems with camera rotation after slipping on a banana.
Coop: Players should no longer automatically fire their weapon after being revived if they were firing when they died.
Coop/Team modes: Added the ability to remove your revivable body (but the respawn timer remains)
Hats and other player model attachments should no longer appear before the player is actually in the game.
Electrical darts now properly display their FX when they hit a surface.
The T3 and custom bandwidth options for Internet servers now work correctly. Please see the updated serverreadme.txt in your main Nolf2 installation folder for details on setting custom bandwidth.
Fixed the bug where bananas would "detonate" on bodies and backpacks.
Players already affected by non-lethal damage cannot be tagged again until 2 seconds after the effect wears off.
Characters should no longer have weird pitch angles when they slip on a banana or are sleeping.
Players under the influence of poison, fire and glue damage will animate normally if they fire a weapon.
Co-op: Players on snowmobiles when a game is saved will be standing next to them in loaded games. This fixes problems with unusable snowmobiles if some players don't rejoin.

Fixed a bug preventing joysticks from being disabled.

  13. Thief: Deadly Shadows patch

v1.1 Patch for retail versions of Thief: Deadly Shadows. Digital distribution versions already include this patch.

This file was originally downloaded from FilePlanet.

Thief: Deadly Shadows - Patch v1.1

    1.1 Items Fixed

    1. Difficulty Settings not working properly with the Save/Load system. This patch fixes the problem the player has with the game resetting the difficulty from Expert or Hard to Normal, or from Easy to Normal, when the game is re-loaded in-mission or if the player transitions more than once in any mission.

The patch is self extracting; simply download the patch to your desktop and unzip it using Winzip. Double-click the file Thief Deadly Shadows Patch.exe to install.

    1.2 Known Issues

    1. If the user has manually edited any of the configuration (.ini) files in the Thief:Deadly Shadows directory we strongly recommend that the user uninstall and reinstall the retail version of the game, and then apply the patch. Failure to do so will likely result in the patch being unable to install correctly.

    2. Pre-patched saved games should be 100% compatible with version 1.1

    3. If the user chooses to restart a mission after loading a save game, the user must select the appropriate level of difficulty from the Difficulty menu.

    4. The game's version number changes from v1.0 to v1.1.

  15. No One Lives Forever patch

    Original file: http://www.gamefront.com/files/1425154/NOLFUpdate003_exe

This is the v1.003 patch for No One Lives Forever. The latest patch release is v1.004 (a link to the patch can be found on the No One Lives Forever wiki page).

Note that the game requires this patch before upgrading to v1.004. Also, saved games from v1.0 are not compatible with the patch (v1.001 and v1.002 will still work). Finally, the installer provided with the patch is not compatible with 64-bit systems. For full compatibility, an alternate installer is required (see InstallShield 3 32-bit Generic Installer).
Here is the list of fixes:
Fixed a multiplayer exploit that allowed player created add-ons with modified weapon.txt files to be used on normal, non-modified servers. Players using these add-ons will now receieve an error message when trying to join a normal server or a server that's running a different add-on.NOTE: This message will also appear if a player with an unmodified version of the game tries to join a modified server. Server operators who wish to use these mods should note the name of the add-on within the server name field.

[*]Fixed a multiplayer bug that sometimes caused players crouching near the terrain to randomly teleport through the map and pick up any weapons or powerups that they came across.
[*]Fixed a multiplayer bug that allowed players to activate vehicles while using the zipcord and then fly around the map.
[*]Fixed a bug that caused the player to fly up into the air when entering a cloud of sleeping gas from below.
[*]Fixed a bug in the multiplayer host menu that caused only 3 of the available bandwidth options to be shown when scrolling through with the right-arrow key.
    [*]Removed Stun/Sleep Recoils.
[*]Fixed a bug in the standalone server wizard that caused certain options to be reset when any slider bar on the same page was moved.
[*]Fixed floating ammo boxes and armor powerups in saved games.

Note that this patch is not required for the Unreal Anthology.

Here is the list of fixes:

    Crash Fixes
Updated DefOpenAL32.dll which should fix EAX-related PlaySound crashes.
Fixed VerifyImport crash (occurred when level changed after game settings modified).
Fix for IKey assertion (crash) due to "special" keys on some keyboards (e.g. internet enabled keyboards).
Fixed crash if some items used after they've been destroyed (fixes crash in MM_Marsh if player destroys force field as squad leader tries to disable it for example).
Additional fix for decolayer density change for Sulferon Assault (and other maps with corrupt terrain info's).
Possible fix for DirectMusic-related "GetEventTool" crashes.
Fixed bug report system sometimes crashing or silently failing due to long URLs.
Fixed GetOggDuration crash if “nosound" used.
Fix for sound-related crash when exiting some levels with DirectX 9.

    Performance
10% improvement in golem mesh rendering performance.
Fixed unnecessary particle lighting overhead problem.
For performance reasons, most carcasses are cleaned up more quickly now.
For performance reasons (mainly in marsh) dropped energy rifles are cleaned up after 10 seconds.
M08B: improved performance by making sure generator rotating movers only rotate when they are visible.
MM_Marsh: added field generator and turret to PreCacheList to avoid hitches when these appear.
    M12: fixed particle overhead.
Added new code/changes to limit overhead due to ragdoll deaths (see "Advanced Tips for Improving Performance" in the readme for details).

    Fixes
Sound fixes. Should reduce occurrences of sound "stuttering" that some people have had due to sound overload / thrashing.
Fixed player dodge speed and height. Can be modified via user.ini settings (see DodgeXYVelocityScale and DodgeJumpZScale in the [u2Pawn] section).
M03A1: gave ammo to merc with grenade launcher.
M08B: lowered carcasses, blood to floor.
M09E: fix for 2 fems staying "inert" if the fem with the RL is killed before being triggered.
Fixed damage warnings (accessed nones) along with fix for damage effects (blood) being spawned so far inside character's mesh that it doesn't show up (currently only affects mukhoggs).
Sunlight fix (flickering in waterfront and potentially other places).
MM_Waterfront: fall out of world fix.
M12: fixed sun disappearing in opening cutscene with ParticleDensity=0. Also CS_Outro, PA_Acheron, PD_Acheron.
Display gamma/brightness/contrast values when changed via F10/F11/F12 keys.
Fix for inert skaarj lying prone on bank in M08B (skaarj will now react to hearing the player even if player bypasses trigger).
Fix for "Joe's" script breaking in M10_Avalon in some cases.
Fixed changing actor detail level in-game could result in invisible NPCs (in TutA).
Made key bindings delete button more obvious (click on this to delete key bindings).
Fix from Jason Yu for bots sometimes not respawning after being killed in botmatches.
Added files needed to fix umod support. The umod registry settings will also need to be modified for Unreal II umods to work. We're working on making a separate downloadable installer for this but in the meantime, people who installed the game in the default folder can click on the .reg file in Unreal2Help.
Increased crawling spider damage by 3x.
    Fixed rammers not attacking properly.
Fix for Golem references being lost resulting in "invisible" NPCs if game saved/loaded prior to spawning in NPCs which use a mesh which is no longer in the level.
Fixed music not playing issue with some levels.

    Changes for v1403
    Added carcass cleanup particle effect.
Added support for modifying player movement speed via Unreal2.ini setting (for the duration of the game). For example, to increase the player's movement speed by 50% set PlayerSpeedRatio=1.5 in the [u2GameInfo] section.
M08B: fixed trigger that player could avoid.
Added 70 and 72 Hz to refresh rates options.
Support for scaling the hud / ui to better support multiple monitor setups. This can now be controlled via the ScaleX, ScaleY, OffsetX, - OffsetY properties in the [uI.UIConsole] section in Unreal2.ini. For example, use ScaleX=0.333 and OffsetX=0.333 for three screen support.
Added "mouse over" context information for the EAX check box. Warns against enabling EAX on non-Audigy / Audigy 2 cards and warns about possible performance issues.

    AI for v1403
Mod authors can once again enable script warnings / errors by setting bDisableErrorMessages=false (by default all script warnings / errors are silent). These were completely disabled for RC7 with the intent of re-enabling these for the patch. Note that you have to enable the Component=Console.MessageArea line in UIScriptsUI.ui (remove the ";") to see debug messages in-game.

    Editor for v1403
Fix for not being able to paint on terrain in editor.
Fix for terrain build crash if no terrain map in level.
Fixed editor "first run" (UnrealEd.ini added to system folder).
    Fixed WBrowserStaticMesh::UpdateMenu crash.
Fixed crash if you clicked on delete in the decolayer terrain tool, without a decolayer actually being selected.

    Testing / Stats for v1403
Improved in-game profiling support / logging.
Improved in-game stats. Added "stat lock".

    Other
Added Mike Lambert to in-game credits.

Shooting through portals should be corrected.

Using the arrow keys to manual join should now show proper graphics.
Network version number upped to 1.04.
Removed some bandwidth constants into the code to eliminate possible cheat.
If a multiplayer game type is restricted to certain missions, only those missions will appear in the server's list.
The mission list on the server is now alphabetized.
The currently selected mission is now remembered correctly when switching game types. If the mission is valid for the new game type, it will remain selected.
Timer bar now shows up properly on clients in multiplayer when game time is changed.
Biosuits appear properly in coop and adversarial multiplayer.
People no longer die from poisoning (ex. biolab) in adversarial multiplayer.
Stats show up properly in all-out survival for people in the gold column.
Clients will now get correct ambient light values for maps from the server.
Stats should now be correct when more than one person is shooting at a target when that target dies (previously it would give one shooter the kill but might show the target as having been killed by the other shooter).
Improved the server validation of gunshots. Clients should have fewer instances where they thought for sure they hit someone near an obstacle but the server rejected it as being blocked.
Time should now pass at the same rate on all machines. Previously, a high frame rate server might run for 12 minutes before ending a 10 minute game.
Removed the extra blank line in the end game stats screen when playing Recon / Regroup.

Fixed the AI turn radius on high-end machines. AI navigation should now be the same on both high-end and low-end machines. AIs should no longer turn in wide arcs on high-end machines.
Terrorists in Advance mode no longer stop when fired upon (introduced in 1.02 and made the BioLab and Airport far too easy).
Fixed a bug that sometimes caused followers to get peeled off on corners.
Terrorists should no longer shoot you when all you can see is their elbow.

    Game Flow:
Loading a saved game after new operatives have been added no longer crashes.
You can now win the hostage rescue tutorials by rescuing the hostages (previously you had to kill all the terrorists).

    Map Changes:
Some geometry fixes (falling through stairs, can't shoot through water) to the following levels: Killhouse 2 Story
    Water Ride
    Road Ambush
    Oil Rig
    Ship
    Mint

[*]Fixed some multiplayer cheating issues (mostly players being able to get to spots where they can see and shoot others without being seen or shot) with the following maps:
    Congo Mansion
    Hacienda
    Skyscraper
    Amazon

    Other:
Grenades once again light for one frame only.
Fixed the grenades not always being thrown when released bug.
Names of kit items no longer overwrite in the kit item selection areas.
    Some more minor spelling corrections.
Terrorists should no longer appear to be shooting at a point next to you rather than at you.
Fixed the random crash-when-someone-dies bug. Boy was that ever fun to track down...
Primary magazines for the shotgun should now look like shotgun shells.
