Same as this mod, but converted to WebM with separate WAV file for audio, to work with the 25th Anniversary version of the game, which restored the intro video support, this time WebM instead of AVI. Plus included Open Your Mind version of the intro alongside the original in two resolutions (720p Widescreen and 480p) The audio will remain played in it's lower quality due to the game used separate WAV file played through the Miles Sound System instead of the one from WebM itself. To fix the low quality audio, use MetaAudio with MetaHookSv, see the instructions here. Changelog: V2.0 Added 3 variants of the intro (Open Your Mind (both Portal 2/turning head and non-turning head version), and Open Your Eyes in 720p & Widescreen) V1.0 Initial creation.

This fixes some inconsistencies across the three official Half-Life games to make the menus fit with the game more and bring back the WON styled text as close as possible with the Steam Version. This does not add the missing animated logos, fix menu background scaling issues, or add/modify menu functions. This is simply text correction for the menus. Color scheme for Blue Shift is not included in this download but can be downloaded from here instead. Installation: Note: The way this is installed ensures no updates or game file verification will delete/overwrite the custom files. 1. Download the file. 2. Extract the zip file to the main installation directory (where hl.exe is located). 3. In every game, go to the in-game options menu and under the "Content" tab, make sure "allow custom addon content" is checked. Click apply and the game will restart with the new text. Changes for all 3 games: Made main and pause menu text all capital, this is how it was in the WON versions. Changed "Options" text to "Configuration" like the WON version. Changes for Half-Life: Replaced "Training Room" text in New Game menu with "Hazard Course" Changes for Blue Shift: Replaced "Training Room" text in New Game menu with "Hazard Course" Replaced "Play Half-Life" button text in New Game menu with "Play Blue Shift", since that is the name of the game anyway. Changes for Opposing Force: Grey text on the side of the main menu options have been changed to their equivalent text from the WON version of the game, soldier! Replaced "Training Room" text in New Game menu with "Boot Camp" Like the WON version. Replaced "Play Half-Life" button text in New Game menu with "Play Opposing Force", since that is the name of the game anyway. Changed "Are you sure you want to quit?" text to "You going AWOL on me, son?" From the WON version. Please let me know of any typos I missed.

This was primarily made for the Pre-25th Anniversary version of Half-Life on Steam since that version had absolutely no video playback at all. Now that the Anniversary update has come along restoring the logo video playback, it made restoring the other logos difficult since it involved replacing two files, making sure the audio is synced, having worse audio quality, and all audio files must be mixed into one file. These are scripts that basically have the videos play with FFplay (FFmpeg but as a media player) instead and then launch the specified game, this way the videos are played externally and are no longer tied to the limits of the Gold Source Engine. FFplay was chosen due to it's portability, compatibility, and it best emulates the original way the videos played in the WON versions. Windows version of FFplay is provided in this download for convenience with the license and readme files, those files only apply to ffplay.exe. I take no credit for anything except the vbs, bat, and ps1 files. Before Installing: The zip files contain VBS, BAT, and PS1 files for the sake of OS compatibility. You choose which ones to use as you do not need all of them extracted, they all do the exact same thing just in a different way. Their code can be reviewed by opening them in any text editor. BAT files are the most compatible and the fastest, use the VBS files to run the BAT without a console window (VBS and BAT files must stay together). PS1 files use Powershell and are more modern. You may need to allow your system to run the files, they are a little slower than BAT files. The version of FFplay provided will run on Windows 7 to modern Windows. Therefore, at least Windows 7 is required. Installation: Choose which zip file to download. Steam or WON. The script file names start with "LWM", this stands for "Launch With Movies". The two letters afterward represent the name of the games. "HL" = "Half-Life", "BS" = "Blue Shift", and "OF" = "Opposing Force". Steam: The scripts will launch the game using steam itself via it's Browser Protocol and not the hl.exe file directly, so any configurations and/or arguments made in steam should still work like normal as it is the equivalent as clicking the "PLAY" button in Steam. 1. Extract the "Steam Versions.zip" file into the main installation directory. This will also add the missing logo files from the WON version of the games and utilize the already existing valve.webm file. 2. Open Steam and right click on Half-Life and click "properties". Add -novid to the launch options. Do this for Blue Shift and Opposing Force Also. 3. Run the script for the game you wish to play, it must be used every time to launch the game with logo playback. WON: Since the media files are already there and play just fine in this version, this is technically not needed. But, this still eliminates the video limits of the Gold Source Engine, providing the possibility of higher quality videos. These scripts already include the -nosierra argument to prevent the videos from playing twice. If there are any other arguments you want to use, open the script files in a text editor, look for -nosierra, and add the arguments the same way you enter them in Steam, a space after each one. 1. For Half-Life and Opposing Force, extract the contents of the "Half-Life + Opposing Force" folder (not the folder itself) within the zip file into the main installation directory for Half-Life (where hl.exe is located). For Blue Shift, extract the contents of the "Blue Shift" folder (not the folder itself) within the zip file in the main installation directory for Blue Shift (where bshift.exe is located) 2. Run the script for the game you wish to play.

Obviously from the screenshots, this is not the same as this version. This is one I made myself since I wanted a more WON styled coloring for the recent update to Half-Life. I was a little disappointed this was not done during that transition. Note: This does not fix the scaling issue with the background on widescreen resolutions or add the animated logo. That will involve more work to add, but might be possible with the new update. This gives the menu for Blue Shift (or literally any other Gold Source game if you wanted to) a more accurate Blue Shift coloring. It is not entirely based off of the looks of WON as I mainly wanted the menu to be appropriately colored for Blue-Shift...although I went the extra mile to give the menu buttons a more accurate font. You may need to install the font "Courier New Bold" On your system if it's absent. I do not know where you get it if not installed already. Installation: 1. Download the file. 2. Extract the zip into the game's installation directory (where hl.exe is located) 3. Launch the game. 4. Go to the in-game options and under the "content" tab, make sure "allow custom addon content" is checked. Click apply and the game will restart with the new color scheme. Note: Using the bshift_addon directory ensures that the file will not get deleted or overwritten after an update or verification. If using the previous version I uploaded, I recommend moving it into the bshift_addon\resource directory instead. If you wish to use this for regular Half-Life or other mods, create the addon folder for the mod and create a resource folder in there and put the TrackerScheme.res file in there. (for Half-Life, use the valve_addon folder, for Opposing Force, use gearbox_addon folder, etc. Create them if they do not exist already).

These DLL files contain fixes for the Steam version of Half-Life that have yet to be fixed. These were compiled from the hlfixed branch of Flying With Gauss (FWGS) HLSDK-Portable. These were not compiled by default. Latest commit as of compiling is 084c954 These fixes do not alter or add anything significant. These are small fixes that will not alter the original Half-Life experience. The most notable fixes are: Crowbar will no longer "Rapid Fire" when hitting certain corpses. Some viewmodel animation fixes such as timing issues or not working. Tripmine beam won't be duplicated when loading into a new area. There are other fixes applied and you can find them in the changelog on the Github page. The optional parameters are also applied. Notes: This will only work with Half-Life. The expansions and any mods may not work with this as they provide their own files which differ from Half-Life's. It is unknown if this is safe for multiplayer (May trigger VAC). Installation Instructions. Use the zip file corresponding to the version of the game being used. ==Steam Version== Download the zip file for Steam. Navigate to where Half-Life is installed (the location of hl.exe). Extract the zip in that directory. There should now be a valve_addon folder. Launch the game and go to settings. Under the video tab, check the box that says "Allow custom addon content" and click apply and OK. The game will restart. It is now installed. ==Retail Version== Note: Backup any original files. Unfortunately the files must be replaced as the valve_addon folder does not work in retail. Download the zip for Retail. Navigate to where Half-Life is installed (the location of hl.exe). Extract the archive and overwrite the valve folder. It is now installed.

These are 64-bit DLL files compiled from FWG's HLSDK-Portable Github page. These files are required for the amd64 build of the Xash3D Engine to be able to launch. They are not compiled by default unlike the 32-bit version. These will not work for the Gold Source version of Half-Life. It is recommended to still use the 32-bit version of Xash3D for any Half-Life mods. Latest commit as of compiling is 43710ea =Installation= 1. Follow these instructions to setup Xash3D, Start at step 0. WON Version or Steam Version of Half-Life will work with it. Make sure Half-Life is up-to-date first. 2. After Clicking "testing" in the instructions on GitHub, download "xash3d-fwgs-win32-amd64.7z " since that is what these files are for, they are not need for the I386 build (x86) and will not work in MAC or Linux builds. Extract that archive somewhere on your system. 2. Extract this archive to Xash3D's location on your system, the location where "xash3d.exe" is located. 3. Launch Xash3D. I don't know how to compile these files for MAC or Linux, but should be noted that amd64 builds exist for those platforms also.
