About This File

Comes with a RAR file, which includes an ASI plugin intended to fix the field of view in the action FPS game "Shellshock 2: Blood Trails" (2009), since the game's engine, Asura, crops the view at resolutions with an aspect ratio wider than 16:9 (Vert-).

Source code available here: https://github.com/alphayellow1/AlphaYellowWidescreenFixes/blob/main/source/fixes/Shellshock2BloodTrailsFOVFix

Instructions:

1. Extract all files to the game folder.

2. Download ThirteenAG's Ultimate ASI Loader (32-bit version of dinput8.dll), and also extract it to the game folder.

3. Set the desired resolution to fix the cropping and FOV factor in Shellshock2BloodTrailsFOVFix.ini.

What's New in Version 1.2.1

Released

- Added support for setting the weapon zoom FOV.

Big thanks for this, started playing this out of curiousity and the FOV was making me sick. Though i got a question, since this game and Rogue Warrior run on the same engine, could whatever you used to make this FOV fix apply to that also? Since that game also has a very narrow FOV, so a fix would be welcome.

Unfortunately, I cannot seem to get this working, I downloaded the ASI winmm.dll file and the files presented here, put them in my base game folder, tweaked the settings, even changed the .dll to dinput8, I'm confident I am missing something but I am unaware as to what it is.

I have read the log, it detects the game, and it loads but there is no change to the FOV at all.

I am utterly dumbfounded.

If I figure out what the problem is, I'll be sure to update. if I haven't this will remain untouched

It works perfectly on my PC following these steps:

It looks great, I hope you can get it working.

+1

Please, still waiting for a FOV fix for this bizarre title for years! 🙂

It should be working now, I was hooking into the wrong instructions. Also use dinput8.dll rather than winmm.dll from ThirteenAG's Ultimate ASI Loader DLL's.

That's brilliant, it's definitely doing something to my game, unfortunately it's messing with the camera, sometimes I'm in the void, sometimes my camera is upside down, but I'm sure I'll find a way around it.

funnily enough I had just checked my email and you responded/fixed it 3 minutes ago.

also, unsure if this is helpful but I am using a copy from myabandonware, I doubt that has much of an impact.

Thanks for updating the fix. I appreciate it.

*update*
unfortunately, it is bugging with my camera, it could be the game version I am using or the crack method.
I have now added a log, I've tried different FOV Factors 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.5 all of them essentially result in everything being invisible or my camera being upside down, when I ADS it's fine. I have also tried adding my resolution to the Width and Height, but if I am correct I thought that only effected the cutscenes.

Apologies for this inconvenience, if there is a different game version or crack method let me know as I am happy to switch.
Again, Thanks for this fix.

Try using the version I just posted, and also start a new game if that helps. This sometimes happens in some games, I guess.
