carefully 2 Share Posted January 6 Hello, I updated my email address on https://sso.pcgamingwiki.com/auth/realms/PCGamingWiki/account/#/personal-info . Next time I logged in the same page it asked me to confirm the verification mail, after doing which I can see my new email on this sso page as expected. I can also see the new email on https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/settings/ as expected. But on this page https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-personal section "Email options", it still shows my very old email with its confirmation date. Also, on page https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-echo section "Email options", it still shows my very old email, and the link Change or remove email address) says invalid special page. Is this expected account behaviour or something I'm missing from my side? Regards.
Aemony 142 Share Posted January 26 Hi, It's some technical limitation as I understand it... Email changes aren't synced over properly from the SSO backend to the wiki backend. I am unsure if this works, but what you can try to do is: 1. Open an incognito window in your browser. 2. Browse to https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Special:ChangeEmail but do not sign in yet! 3. Click on "Forgot your password?" and go through the instructions to set a separate password for you wiki account (this only affects the local wiki account -- not the overarching SSO account). 4. Once you have changed the password, try to sign in using your username and that new password on https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Special:ChangeEmail. If it works, you should be able to change the password from there. You can then sign out from the wiki and sign back in using your regular SSO account again. carefully 2 Author Share Posted January 27 (edited) Thanks for the information. Unfortunately, I no longer have access to the older email account from local wiki account. So that password reset email I can't receive from the special page. I'm gonna ignore this issue now, as atleast the SSO account is having correct information. EDIT - I'm ok to conclude this thread, I don't see any option to mark your message as solution. If possible please do that and conclude this thread.
