Nicereddy 109 Share Posted August 24, 2013 I think a color/colour blindness setting for the Video Settings template may be helpful. The only game I currently know supports it is Monaco. I think it'd be an automatically-unused setting like Oculus Rift support or EAX audio. It would only be listed if true. Thoughts?
Hungry eyes 6 Share Posted August 24, 2013 SimCity supports it. But to be honest, is it not too obscure to put in the video settings template? I'd support it being listed in the notes, but a whole row just to itself seems a bit much. Of course we want to support the colour-blind gaming community but at the same time the content has to remain readable and accessible to the majority and if we clog up the video settings template too much it just becomes useless in its purpose to be concise. Nicereddy 109 Author Share Posted August 24, 2013 As long as it's, by default, left unused I don't think we'd be clogging it up.
Hungry eyes 6 Share Posted August 25, 2013 Well then it will only appear if you add the "true" icon, which would make it inconsistent with the other variables in the table, which are meant to appear even if the game does not support them so the user can be sure that it lacks support for those features using the "false" icon. Garrett 215 Share Posted August 25, 2013 The Oculus Rift row is only shown when true or hackable.
Hungry eyes 6 Share Posted August 25, 2013 The Oculus Rift row is only shown when true or hackable. Did not know this. If we've already done this before, then I guess it makes sense to do it again.
PecanPie 7 Share Posted August 26, 2013 I know that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops 2 (I think Battlefield 3 also has it) have Color Blind support in the settings which change the color of some HUD elements.
Garrett 215 Share Posted September 9, 2013 I have added a color blind option to the video settings template which displays when set to true or hackable (false and unknown hide the row). I have also added a 120Hz option (as suggested in another topic) which is displayed when true, hackable or false.
