AnotherGills 25 Share Posted September 9, 2019 Xbox Games Studios and The Coalition's latest entry in the Gears of War franchise, Gears 5, has been abruptly removed from Steam in China. On the Gears 5 Ultimate Edition's release date (days before the release of the normal edition), a developer from The Coalition released a post on the Steam forum stating: Quote "There is a specific issue with the Gears 5 release in China preventing people from accessing the complete game. Unfortunately, this issue means we have to suspend future sales and pre-orders, as well as the game’s release, in China at this time. We are investigating and will provide an update once we have more information. We appreciate your understanding." There has been no clarification as to what the "specific issue" is, nor any news on a Chinese release in the future. According to replies in announcement thread, users had the ability to pre-purchase the title. No news has been disclosed regarding refund options for these users.
