AnotherGills 25 Share Posted August 20, 2019 Square-Enix has announced that Final Fantasy VIII Remastered will be released next month on September 3rd, for $19.99 USD. This re-release of the classic JRPG improves on the original with a graphical facelift, with many of the characters, enemies, and summonable familiars (referred to in-game as Guardian Forces) receiving new models. Also included are new quality-of-life features, including a 3x speed boost (to cut down time on grinding or world-travel), and the ability to turn off random encounters. While Final Fantasy VIII and it's 2013 re-release are no strangers to graphical mods, they are very lacking in their official states, featuring lower-quality versions of the soundtrack, and in the 2013 release, lower-quality full motion videos. While the remaster appears to be alleviating this issue, the frame rate displayed in Remastered's trailers are disappointingly on-par with the frame rate of the original, as battle sequence animations are still running at an extremely low frame rate of 15 frames per second. Hopefully, the Remastered version will also have mods that can lead to an increase in frame rate. Will you be picking up Final Fantasy VIII Remastered?
