Mars icecream 57 Share Posted September 11, 2016 So far I've seen this website in every article about a game using vertical FOV: http://www.rjdown.co.uk/projects/bfbc2/fovcalculator.php I suggest creating a vertical FOV table that can be accessed in the wiki. Looks like that same values apply to same aspect ratio (4:3, 16:10, 16:9), resolution is irrelevant. 16:9 |-! horizontal FOV !! vertical FOV |-| 110 || 78|-| 100 || 68|-| 90 || 59|-| 80 || 51 I see wiki formatting doesn't work here, unfortunately. DrCat 11 Share Posted September 12, 2016 I was also thinking that relying on that website may be a problem if it ever goes down. Since the Field of View page already mentions a few examples of hFOV to vFOV however, I think it would be simpler to just add the formula mentioned on the website and let the users calculate for themselves. Garrett 219 Share Posted September 12, 2016 Glossary:Field of view (FOV) covers some suggested values, so that could be expanded into a table to link to.
Marioysikax 89 Share Posted September 12, 2016 Because that's mathematical calculation that is publicly available, I do not see reason why we simply can't have our own calculator made? Similar to how we should have screenshot comparison section on the site. Mars icecream and Mirh
