Guess what.

I've fresh installed Windows 10 TH2. The first time I started NFSMW, it let me save the settings. The second time, it freezed.

Just great.

It looks like they may have fucked it up, so it's not really your fault.

Can you go back to build 10240?

I have no idea how they managed to mess up this badly, I would expect them to be a bit more professional than this.

OK, I've installed 10240. Works perfectly. I wonder when MS decides to force TH2 down our throats. I hope by that time they'll fix this shitload of f**k.

Anyway, big thanks for your help and patience, guys. Case closed, gonna go play some Need for Speed now.

EDIT: The November Update just installed itself again. And the error is back. Great.

I don't remember what I did but I never even got this update, anyway what version of Windows are you on? (Home, Enterprise, that stuff) You should probably look up if you can stop Windows from downloading it somehow.

Oh, don't worry, it'll come to you. Not everyone has received this update yet.

I'm on Home version so I have no control over what updates I want to install. There is however an option to return to a previous compilation, fortunately.

Once Nvidia updates their drivers, I'll try 1511 again.

Wait wait wait, we are not here for lousy workarounds.

We are here for fixes. And in the case we ain't them.. well, at least we pinpoint the cause.

There should be no special bug in 1511

D63B10C5-BB46-4990-A94F-E40B9D520160 and 9CA88EE3-ACB7-47C8-AFC4-AB702511C276 are known offenders though, you are right.

If you search for those class Identifier you see plenties of problems with those (even under w8.1)

It's weird this would be triggered by these old games though :s

I did everything described in the link you gave me (I've figured it out myself before), but after I did all this, the freeze still occured. Unless I was doing something wrong, but I don't think so...

I may try it again when I have some spare time though.

I only told you to revert seeing as I don't really see the point in you wasting more of your time on something as pontless as this, I doubt this will happen anymore if you ever get a proper desktop computer anyway. It just seems like a hardware issue more than anything so, meh, I wouldn't stress it too badly, but I'm honestly just trying to respect your time seeing as I don't think everyone should have to waste their time with this crap just to play some videogames.

You should be able to disable Windows Update through the Services screen.

Did you try asking on Reddit for some help? Maybe other Lenovo users can give some suggestions.

Actually did you try some older versions of the Nvidia drivers yet? But I guess you are not on TH2 by now anymore.

You don't really have to if things are working fine though. Might as well just wait for the new drivers as you said.

I've tried many different versions, the oldest one was 353.62. Looking at Nvidiahelp reddit, a lot of people have various problems after upgrading to TH2. I'll just do what I said - wait for a new driver and then check again.

Anyway, thanks again, guys :) I'm staying with build 10240 for now.

Hello dude. I just wanna say that Un experiencing the same problems like you wirh the build 1511 of Windows 10. And this is not occuring on old games. I am experiencing freezes in menús of games like Gone Home and Endless Space Disharmony.Lords of the fallen somethimes dont start when I am clicking the icon and PES 2016 after the first logo it freezes. With the build 10240 all those games are working I was testing them. I hace NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M. So I dont know what to do because I was trying anithing posible. There are more people with gaming problems on the treshold 2 build 1511? Somebody knows a fix or something?

What the hell, I still didn't get this update yet. All I can say is to stick to 10240. Are there any crash logs you could send to Microsoft?
