Hungry eyes 6 Share Posted August 18, 2013 I'd rather just replace irrelevant with incomplete, otherwise it will just get too long I think.
Nicereddy 109 Share Posted August 18, 2013 Do you think we can get Garrbot to organize the templates in Pridit's preferred order (stub -> cleanup -> review code -> development)? That'd help unify the pages a bit.
Andytizer 269 Share Posted August 18, 2013 Just wanted to comment about the postdev template that Nicereddy has been adding to pages like TF2 - I think this is overkill as every game can be described like this and it's not relevant. If a page is inaccurate it needs a cleanup, if it's incomplete then it's a stub. We should also remove the line about how information is inaccurate - we should just say this game is in Alpha and link to a definition. This will help reduce the height of these templates. Sorry for brevity, I'm on mobile.
Hungry eyes 6 Share Posted August 18, 2013 Templates can't be any less than two lines, they are currently at their minimum height unless we remove the icons. The postdev template was intended to be used on games that are heavily developed post release (e.g. Minecraft) rather than just the usual patch/DLC cycle, but if its overkill it can be removed. I still think it's important to warn people about the inaccuracy or irrelevance of the information, and removing it won't make the template footprint any smaller. Nicereddy 109 Share Posted August 18, 2013 I'd argue for Team Fortress 2 because it's still getting frequently patched, as are CS:GO, DOTA 2, Don't Starve, and a few others. On the other hand, games like Half-Life, Half-Life 2, World of Goo, Puddle, RUSH, Splice, etc. aren't really getting updated anymore.
Garrett 214 Share Posted August 18, 2013 I think these tags should only be used when relevant to the wiki's scope; games that have reached the official release stage will generally not change the features the wiki covers. Do you think we can get Garrbot to organize the templates in Pridit's preferred order (stub -> cleanup -> review code -> development)? That'd help unify the pages a bit. Yes, that's probably feasible.
