Hidden & Dangerous Deluxe - FOV Fix

6 Screenshots

About This File

This is a Cheat Engine table file intended to fix the field of view in the first/third-person WW2 tactical shooter game "Hidden & Dangerous Deluxe" (2002), as the game's engine, Insanity 3D, stretches the image at resolutions with an aspect ratio wider than 4:3. This fix is intended to be used with the GOG.com digital version.

Credits also go to: Automaniak

Instructions:

1. Start the game.

2. Alt+tab and open Cheat Engine.

3. Open the game's process (hde.exe) and open the cheat table provided in the fix: Hidden & Dangerous - FOV Fix v1.0.CT

4. Once the scripts appear in the address list in the box below the main one, tick the "Active" box of "Overall FOV Instruction", "HFOV Instruction", "Rendering Sides Instruction" and "Rendering Distance".

5. For the "Overall FOV (Codecave)" field, leave the value as default (0.5), or increase it slightly to get a bigger FOV (it can't be much higher than 1.2/1.3).

6. For the "HFOV (Codecave)" field, put the value corresponding to this formula: (4 / 3) / (NEWWIDTH / NEWHEIGHT), for example (4 / 3) / (1920 / 1080) = 0.75

7. For the "Rendering (Sides)" field, change the value to 200.

8. For the "Rendering Distance" field, open the script by double left-clicking on <script>, go to line 17 and after where it says (float), change the value "1000" to a higher or lower number to control how far the player can see the game world.

9. Go back to the game and that's it.

Thanks for this, but i hope that this FOV Fix using Cheat Engine was a one time thing only.

You're welcome, but unfortunately I had to. Everytime the instructions I have to change in a file involve reading values from memory addresses and the files have realocation turned on, I have no other solution, otherwise they won't work because those files, since they have realoc activated, when they are first loaded, its code is allocated in random parts of RAM everytime, and the new memory addresses I point to in the patched areas are no longer valid and the game crashes.
