How to rebind controllers?

Recommended Posts

Controller rebinding options in games are usually absent, often something as simple as changing A to B would be super-helpful. I prefer a program that translates controller input on the fly, rebinding would work universally in all programs (?) without mandatory per-application configuration. Xinput Plus and Durazno appear to be able to rebind, but I didn't get either to work with a game I'm playing.

I have found absolutely no solution so far and I've tried at least:

  • X360ce (DirectInput -> Xinput)
  • JoyToKey (controller -> keyboard)
  • Xinput Plus (per-application configuration)
  • Durazno (per-application configuration)

There are no known controller rebinding program like you're describing, unfortunately. It depends to your controller configuration...

Steam.

They expanded steam controllers build in support to Dualshock 4 and now to XInput and generic DirectInput controllers and opening game in big picture lets you configure the keys in steam overlay.
