Tough call, but for me — "Elden Ring" (2022) takes the top spot.

It hit all the right notes: massive open world, deep lore, challenging but fair combat, and that constant sense of discovery. It felt like every hill or cave had something worth exploring. FromSoftware really outdid themselves — it’s not just a great game, it’s an experience that sticks with you long after the credits roll.

Elden Ring (2022).

It made me not want to quit the PC to go to bed for several weeks in a row. It made me look forward to playing it every day at work and going straight home afterwards to play it, and then play it for all evening until I went to bed.

For me, the standout was Elden Ring — huge world, deep lore, and the kind of freedom that makes every playthrough feel unique. But on the lighter side, I also really enjoyed this live train speed check game we ran in a community event. It wasn’t anything big-budget, but coordinating departures, arrivals, and random “track block” events turned out to be surprisingly competitive and fun. Sometimes those small, themed games stick with you just as much as the AAA titles.
