AnotherGills 25 Share Posted August 11, 2019 Sega and Creative Assembly’s long-running strategy game franchise, Total War, is no stranger to spin-off series. Last year marked the debut of the Total War Saga sub-series, with Total War Saga: Thrones of Brittania. According to a recent trademark application, it seems the next title in the franchise will take place in Troy, with the entry being aptly titled Total War Saga: Troy. There is currently no other information regarding the title. This is not Creative Assembly's first foray with using Troy as a basis. In 2004, the company released another spin-off of the Total War franchise, entitled Spartan: Total Warrior, a console-exclusive action game revolving around fictionalized battles rooted in Ancient Greek mythology. Perhaps the upcoming Total War Saga: Troy will also integrate mythology into the more realistic nature of the Total War strategy franchise. What are your thoughts on the Total War Saga series? Are you a fan, or do you prefer the mainline franchise? Reply (Quote)
Andytizer 269 Share Posted August 11, 2019 I was really not impressed with Thrones of Brittania as a Total War Saga.. I was looking forward to having another Total War set in Great Britain, but it turned out to be not a great 'Attila' expansion which introduced some mechanics which made the game substantially worse (estates). I was expecting more of a 'Fall of the Samurai' type standalone game. Hopefully they learn from their mistakes and do something vaguely interesting with the next entry.. but Greek states have been done to death in Total War already.
