Adventures of Lomax patch (bypass 8-bit/16-bit color requirement)

About This File

Note: Use only if the DxWnd method doesn't work for you!

A hexadecimal patch for Adventures of Lomax that bypasses the 8-bit/16-bit color requirement. (The error message reads "Lomax will only run on 8 and 16 bit deep desktops")

Causes transparency effect issues.

To run:

1. Backup the original LOMAX.EXE (rename it to LOMAX.EXE.BAK) and place this patched .exe into your game installation folder.

2. Set the .exe to run in compatibility mode for Windows 95/98/ME.

Demonstrated by RetroJackal on YouTube:

To patch the game in the same manner yourself, hex edit LOMAX.EXE by changing the hexadecimal string 83 FD 08 74 1E 83 FD 10 74 19 to 83 FD 08 74 1E 83 FD 10 EB 19.
