Chaser / Cloak Engine / Could not load map file?

I have never had an issue playing the Steam release of Chaser up until just recently. I went to boot the game and it threw me an error I have never seed before. It opens in an error window titled "Cloak Engine" and gives me a very vague "Could not load map file" message. I have not been able to find a fix online. I tried verifying my files through steam as well as downloading the 1.49 and 1.50 patch off moddb and patch scrolls. I am at a little bit of a loss on this one...
