Star Trek: Bridge Commander - FOV Fix

About This File

Comes with a RAR file, which includes an ASI plugin intended to fix the aspect ratio in the sci-fi strategy game "Star Trek: Bridge Commander" (2002), since the game stretches the view at resolutions with an aspect ratio wider than 4:3.

Instructions:

1. Extract all files to the game folder.

2. Download ThirteenAG's Ultimate ASI Loader (32-bit version of winmm.dll), and also extract it to the game folder.

3. Set the desired resolution to fix the stretching and FOV factor in StarTrekBridgeCommanderFOVFix.ini.

Hello, I've finally tried the patch and it won't worked correctly.

I've tested on a pure STBC installation. Set the resolution 2560x1080 in the INI and the game just ignored it.

The bridge view has the correct FOV but in third person (SPACE key) the screen stretchs from 4:3.

I haven't succeed filming this but got some screens below

1 -> Outside view is 4:3, but ingame is stretched.

2 -> The proportion Ingame is a correct 21:9. But the resolution is the maximum the game offers: 1280x1024.

I've tried too forcing the resolution 2560X1080 In the options.cfg. But the ingame UI are misplaced even overlapping each other. 

Some notes: I've tested on a WINE installation on Linux. And yes, winmm is set to native/built in. It worked with others fixes from you I've played before.

Maybe not related to your fix: The introductory ingame cinematics (first person) can't been seen until you click/deactivate one of the officers. Until this the screen don't update. Maybe wine related

I've updated the fix more recently, use the new version, and also the fix is expected to have the game run at the same resolution set in the INI. Also, FOV Fix =/= Widescreen Fix

Tested against the new 1.1.

The black screen on initial cinematics was fixed. Thank you!

But the problem with the exterior view continues if the resolution isn't set in the CFG.

This time I'ved used DGVoodoo to force high resolution (Max) plus the scaling mode to STRETCHED and set the resolution in your INI to 2560x1080.

in the movie below you can see it works on the bridge but not in the exterior view.

After this I've set the resolution in the option.cfg and besides the UI problems the exterior view is fixed.

If the exterior view could be fixed without the needing of tweaking the game cfg the solution would be perfect for every situation.
