WWII: Normandy Patch v1.1
This is the most recent update available for your WWII: Normandy game. See more info for a list of details on what is included in this patch.
Additional Content and Gameplay Tweaks
--------------------------------------
Two additional maps have been added, Map11 and Map12. You can play these by selecting "Bonus Maps" from the game menu. Note that these maps were included for fun factor and not from the standpoint of historical accuracy, so just have fun! Note, in order to see the "Bonus Maps" menu you must first complete the 10 normal maps. If you've already played these maps before installing this patch and don't wish to do so again, you can add the following line to the top of the default.cfg file located in your Normandy directory: "c_GameCompleted" "1"
Enemies now have a higher minimum sight distance so they won't ignore players in some situations where there was a clear line of sight but the player was relatively far off.
AI must now wait after reaching a cover location before moving to a new location. This reduces their scrambling around and forces them to hunker down and fire, even if their enemy is no longer placed optimally for their location.
Enemies now alert other enemies when they first take damage rather than only when they first sight the player. This behavior was accidentally disabled in version 1.0.
Location-based damage. Enemies now take more or less damage based on where you hit them. Head and torso shots do the most damage, while hits in the arms and legs due significantly less. You can turn location-based damage on or off from the Preferences->Gameplay menu.
The readme.txt file has been updated with a better description of how to accurately throw grenades in the game.
Bugs Fixed:
-----------
Fixed crash that could occur if an explosion was triggered on a clip brush (this was a very rare occurrence).
Tiny triangles are now fully rendered correctly when running in software mode.
Triangles are now always rendered using the correct screen resolutions. Some small triangles went through a drawing path that used a default resolution instead of the current on and this could cause pixels to be drawn in the wrong place.
Fixed bug that was causing level intro screens to exit as soon as the level finished loading. This was unfortunately introduced very late in the first release while trying to fix a bug with the mission completed window.
USB joysticks are now detected properly.
Clip size for M1 Garand is now correctly set to 8 instead of 15. Unfortunately the M1 Carbine was referenced for clip size instead of the M1 Garand.
Fixed a crash if the "Restart Level" debugging command was issued before loading a level.
Machine-gunners no longer block movement after they have died.
Fixed several small memory leaks.
Version 1.0 games are compatible with this patch. However, if you save a game after installing this patch, that game will be unloadable by version 1.0.
