X-Fi Driver MOD 2.17.0008 for X-Fi Titanium compatible with Win10 & Win11.

NOTE: I don't know where to put this, but I wanted to share the driver 2.17.0008C for Windows 10/11. Mainly for those who play old games. If this thread does not go here, delete or move.

For a few months now, the user Antes533 (TECHPOWERUP FORUMS) has been working on modifying the driver v2.17.0008C to make it compatible with the latest versions of Windows; adding bug fixes, restoring functionality, updating the entire software package and improving overall stability. These drivers offer excellent audio quality without distortions, perfect compatibility with OpenAL (no more BSOD, loss of audio or noise).

Improvements:
- The APO (responsible for rendering the sound) has been replaced with one of the highest quality; Scene depth, stereo and FX effects have been improved.
- The stability of the driver in general has been improved.
- Compatibility with the latest versions of Windows.
- 88.2kHz and 176kHz modes restored.
- Harmonic distortion has been improved.
- Being based on the official v2.17 drivers, these do not overload the DSP signal, so the EAX effects are heard correctly without exaggerated reverberation.
- Other undocumented changes.

Disadvantages:
- To use these drivers you must disable driver updates from Windows Update, otherwise it will be automatically replaced by a newer one.
- These drivers are not signed (not WHQL) so they must be installed by running the "Disable the mandatory use of signed drivers" mode.
- In order for the software configuration to be saved, once configured to your liking, the PC must enter sleep mode. This is done only once and is a problem inherited from the official version.

Retail version of Hard Truck 2 won't start on Windows 10 or 11

I have fixed "Your computer does not have graphic accelerator" but the retail version of Hard Truck 2 (non GOG.com) start on Windows 10 or 11 even if I run in Windows XP Service Pack 2 compatibility mode with dgVoodoo installed. Are there ways to fix this?

spellforce Platinum key issue

I installed the GAme with no issues but when I entered the KEY it said wrong so I re-entered it and said wrong again and now it just keeps saying Temporary key expired. I ahve the original DVD along with the sleeve with original KY on the back of it. I can not figure out how ot fix this. Any Ideas welcome. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game but it does not ask for the Key just keeps saying contact jowood for fix.

As I was trying to figure out how to get the specific Unreal Engine version used on Lost Records: Bloom & Rage to add onto its wiki page, I ended up going down the reverse engineering rabbit hole and doing a whole tool that will automatically analyse UE4/UE5 games and output their versions.

I've made the tool open-source, in case someone is interested:

I've randomly downloaded UE4/UE5 games from my Steam Library, and every example I threw at it gave me the correct result.
If you find a game where the analysis is not working, or the returned version is wrong, feel free to open a ticket on the repository with the example.

Note that this tool does not support UE3 or older Unreal games.

Hello everyone. I know I've already annoyed many of you with this topic. But I need help. What to do about the fact that Activision bans and labels players as cheaters for running CoDBOCW on a ReFS-installed Windows and under Wine/Proton? I don’t know why, but no one wants to publicly accuse them of crossing all boundaries. And they allow themselves things that are not stipulated in the terms, agreement, or policy. The thing is, my friends and I have proven that running a game on a Windows installed with ReFS leads to a permanent ban, as well as marking players in Steam as cheaters. The question is how to get rid of it without buying a new game and without creating a new account. None of the support from different services wants to help. Activision just feeds us dogma that we supposedly violated something and tells us to read the policy, but of course, they don't reveal the reason. And Steam and Blizzard refer us back to Activision, claiming they can't help or simply don't want to.
And overall, why can't a multi-billion dollar company fix its worthless and useless anti-cheat? The cheaters themselves don't seem to be particularly affected, but honest people are randomly banned so easily. It's trivial even for a BSOD.

Generic fix for Multi-stream audio?

Is there an article describing a fix for multi-stream audio issues? My particular problem is that Heroes 5 (and I assume many other legacy games) have problems when you unplug the headphones and replug them back for modern laptops and PCs with multi-stream audio (Headphones and Speakers on separate audio instances). In my case the audio doesn't work after replugging and have to save and restart the game. pretty bad if you just want to pause, sleep and resume a game. A fix for me was to go to Realtek Audio Console and change from "Multi-stream" to "Classic" but audio enhancement are a bit buggy in that mode. Is there any silver bullet fix?

By this topic, I am referring to games that got PC versions/ports, but very little information about these games seem to exist. One example is a game called MorphX, which is a localization of a Russian game called "Symbiont". Any information you find for "MorphX" will bring up the Xbox 360 release, while there are subtle hints of it getting a PC release also. A forum (I forget which, sorry) uncovered that it was indeed sold digitally, but has been since taken down. The same forum also hosts a demo of MorphX, but it requires a cracked executable as the TAGES DRM requires a serial code that cannot be cheated, it also requires online activation. This proves that MorphX was indeed localized for PC, but proof of it actually existing is very limited.

Two other games confirmed to exist but left no traces of release are Frogger Beyond and Mashed: Fully Loaded. You can't find Frogger Beyond on eBay while Mashed: Fully Loaded has precisely one (Italian) listing, but there are videos of their PC versions on YouTube (Frogger, Mashed). While their PC versions aren't entirely unknown, Wikipedia claims that Metal Gear Solid 2's PC version was also released in the United States, but all results for it on ebay are European, and likewise Wikipedia seems to believe that Spy Hunter: Nowhere to Run was only released on consoles. Are there any other games with PC versions that the internet doesn't seem to know (or care) existed, or perhaps versions that claim to exist but actually don't?

This mod includes a full dub of the game Unreal (1998) plus the marine dub from Return to Na Pali (1999), which the Spanish version does not include. This mod aims to complement the Unreal Gold dub with the parts not dubbed into Spanish. Classic audio is not included, only those recorded to enhance the gaming experience. In addition, it includes a guide on how to install the mod, some tips to improve the experience, and a cast statement. No Man's Land (2003, PC) modding / unpacking

Hello! I was wondering if anyone knows who was the author of the widescreen fix for the 2003 game No Man's Land: Fight for your Rights. The game uses .rda files that are also used in the Anno series from Anno 1701 onward, yet the unpacking tools for those games don't support the version used in No Man's Land. However, someone was able to extract them to make the widescreen fixes (it's an .ini file with the original German developer notes). Does anyone know?

I’m looking for help or any documentation on editing savegame files for Farming Simulator 14, Farming Simulator 16, and Farming Simulator 18 — specifically the mobile/PC versions (Windows Store, Android, iOS, etc.).

I'm trying to figure out how to modify values like money, owned vehicles, fields, and crop states. I've been poking around the savegame directories and files (e.g., careerSavegame.xml, vehicles.xml, etc.) but haven't found any clear explanations on which tags correspond to what, or what values are safe to change.

Some specific questions:

Is there a known structure for these save files?

Are there tools or editors available for these specific FS versions?

Are the save formats across 14/16/18 similar?

Any gotchas I should be aware of when editing?
