This is a copy of the my comment on the DX:MD page and it was suggested to seek support here as well. I would like to know is there is a way to get 32:9 (5120x1440) to work without black bars? I tried editing the executable with HxD and also tried search for the aspect ratio with cheatengine to adjust the known values but nothing seems to work.

Furthermore, why does the article show green for ultrawide, even though it doesn't work?

Considering WSGF list ultra-widescreen as supported (although with some glitches), it seems just nobody tested 32:9 (especially that a major releases of these monitors happened a year after the game was released) and all tests were done on 21:9, so that might be why it lists ultra-widescreen  as supported... cause it does, just not 32:9 aspect ratio.

I don't know if it's the same, but it seems like it is actually latterboxed to 21:9 on 32:9 -

Which as a programmer I could actually imagine how it could have happened.

Sorting this would require writing some kind of hack, cause I doubt we can get Square Enix to invest some money to make another patch.

Shouldn't it then be indicated, like only partially supported?

Not until we globally change the definition of ultra-widescreen, as I explained to you earlier. I'm for it and I actually proposed that the wiki covers more aspect ratios a while back on Discord.

Yeah, it's a pity. You mentioned that you have an idea how that could have happened. Could you explain your reasoning?

I also doubt there will be another patch for this game.

I know, thanks again. I wanted to raise the same question here since it was suggested to take this discussion to the forum. So, currently 32:9 has to be specifically mentioned in order to draw any conclusions.

The tool previously allowed to change field of view, but as of the May 12, 2020 game update, there is an FOV slider in the game.
The remaining functionality is removing black bars from the cutscenes at 32:9 and wider resolutions.
Simply unpack the archive and use the small patcher to target the ZA4_dx12 and/or ZA4_vulkan executable in the game folder depending on your preferred graphics API. Be mindful of the large file size of the executables which will be backed up and take up space if left untouched. Tested the latest EGS Vulkan and DX12 game versions at 3840x1080 and 5760x1080.

A total overhaul of the old Flawless Widescreen script for GTA V that has been dysfunctional for many months if not longer.
As before, it allows for fine-tuning of FOV per each view - first person, in-vehicle, ADS, and third person. It also allows to remove the pillarboxing at cutscenes at 21:9 and wider, although having the latter enabled may cause some confirmation prompts to disappear at 32:9 and wider until disabled.
Download and install Flawless Widescreen. Download this script and unpack the archive. Put its contents in the main Flawless Widescreen folder (usually \Program Files (x86)\Flawless Widescreen\). Launch Flawless Widescreen, select Grand Theft Auto V (updated) and set everything to preference. Tested the latest game version at 2560x1080, 3440x1440, 3840x1080, and 5760x1080.

The small patcher and trainer for Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance remove black bars appearing in the game at 21:9 and wider resolutions.

      For the Microsoft Store version,
Download and unpack the applicable archive using the password pcgw Launch the game, followed by the tool. Press the button as shown to toggle the black bars off and on. For Steam,
Unpack the Shipping exe found in /CotH/Binaries/Win64/ with Steamless (like this). Download the applicable archive from here and patch the unpacked file renamed to match the original. Simply patching should work for any other versions.

Tested the latest Game Pass version at 2560x1080 and briefly at 5760x1080.

The small patcher for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint removes black bars appearing in the game at 21:9 and wider resolutions.
Disable BattleEye. Download and unpack the archive included here. Use the patcher to modify GRB.exe and/or GRB_vulkan.exe depending on the preferred graphics API mode - DirectX vs Vulkan. Be mindful of the backup files taking up as much space as the original executables. They can be safely removed, but then the game files will need to be verified if the goal is to revert or to play PvP.
Tested the latest Ubisoft Connect version at 2560x1080. Additionally verified as working by a WSGF user.

Unpack the archive with software like 7zip - the password is pcgw Launch the game Launch the tool and press the keys as instructed All trainers based on CE components may trigger some anti-virus software.

Tested the latest Microsoft Store / Game pass version at 2560x1080 and 3840x1080.
