This is a copy of the my comment on the DX:MD page and it was suggested to seek support here as well. I would like to know is there is a way to get 32:9 (5120x1440) to work without black bars? I tried editing the executable with HxD and also tried search for the aspect ratio with cheatengine to adjust the known values but nothing seems to work.

Furthermore, why does the article show green for ultrawide, even though it doesn't work?

Considering WSGF list ultra-widescreen as supported (although with some glitches), it seems just nobody tested 32:9 (especially that a major releases of these monitors happened a year after the game was released) and all tests were done on 21:9, so that might be why it lists ultra-widescreen  as supported... cause it does, just not 32:9 aspect ratio.

I don't know if it's the same, but it seems like it is actually latterboxed to 21:9 on 32:9 -

Which as a programmer I could actually imagine how it could have happened.

Sorting this would require writing some kind of hack, cause I doubt we can get Square Enix to invest some money to make another patch.

Shouldn't it then be indicated, like only partially supported?

Not until we globally change the definition of ultra-widescreen, as I explained to you earlier. I'm for it and I actually proposed that the wiki covers more aspect ratios a while back on Discord.

Yeah, it's a pity. You mentioned that you have an idea how that could have happened. Could you explain your reasoning?

I also doubt there will be another patch for this game.

I know, thanks again. I wanted to raise the same question here since it was suggested to take this discussion to the forum. So, currently 32:9 has to be specifically mentioned in order to draw any conclusions.

      The tools for Steam and Microsoft Store versions of Halo: Reach, Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, ODST, and Halo 4 remove black bars at cutscenes in real time for ultrawide, superwide and triple monitor resolutions. The password for the archives is pcgw
      Play the game in the Anti-Cheat Disabled mode for this to work. Launch the game first, then the tool.
      The tool is a trainer based on CE components that may trigger some anti-virus software. Making it into a patcher would be inconvenient, as it would likely require replacing files before each launch in the anti-cheat-enabled mode.
      Tested the Xbox / Microsoft store version at 2560x1080 (all games), 3840x1080 (Halo CE, 3, ODST, 4) and 5760x1080 (all games).

      Download the included trainer and unpack it with software like PeaZip. The password is pcgw Launch the game, then the tool. Press the shown keys to remove the black bars and adjust FOV as desired. Alternatively, for the DRM-free version, use the included aspect ratio patchers to target \BloodstainedRotN\Binaries\Win64\BloodstainedRotN-Win64-Shipping.exe within the game folder.
      To avoid upscaling, edit %LOCALAPPDATA%\BloodstainedRotN\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\GameUserSettings.ini and at the end add
      ResolutionSizeX=YOUR_WIDTH
      ResolutionSizeY=YOUR_HEIGHT
      and set FullscreenMode=0
      Changing game settings may reset the above.
      Tested the latest GOG and Xbox Game Pass versions at 2560x1080, 3840x1080, 5760x1080 and 3240x2160.

      This is a patcher for Yakuza 7 (Like a Dragon) that removes the letterboxing at non 16:9 resolutions.

      It is made using quickBMS to extract UI resource files and replace the letterboxing textures.
      To install:
      1. Extract the contents of the zip to "steamapps\common\Yakuza Like a Dragon\runtime\media\data" 2. Run "letterbox_patch_efigs.bat" 3. A backup of the original files will be placed within a folder marked "backup". Known Issues:
      Due to the nature of how the game was made, you will see outside of the 16:9 window. You may see visual glitches and so on that would have been hidden otherwise. New patches for the game may break this. If it does, delete the backup folder and run the patcher again. Credits/Sources:
      QuickBMS (https://aluigi.altervista.org/quickbms.htm) for the unpacker/repacker. parc.bms (https://aluigi.altervista.org/bms/parc.bms) for the quickbms script. Kiwami 2 Letterbox Mod (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1736864221) for pointing me in the right direction. Thanks to KingKrouch and Rose on the WSGF Discord for advice and testing.

      The trainer removes black bars from the game at 21:9 and wider. Unlike the existing solution, it works with Game Pass and any aspect ratio.
      Unpack the archive - the password is pcgw Launch the game, followed by the tool. Press the key as instructed to enable and disable the solution in real time. Press Alt+Enter twice or switch to a different window mode and back for proper application. Known issues (as with the existing solution):
      Pre-rendered cutscenes are stretched. Post-process effects scale improperly, resulting in washed out image the wider it gets. Tested the latest Microsoft Store / Game Pass version at 2560x1080 and 7680x1080. The latter was significantly affected by blurred effects and missing shadows / ambient occlusion.
      Using MSAA is not recommended, as it causes additional washout - even without modifications, at 16:9.

      The tool allows to adjust field of view in real time, displaying the current value. It also corrects the vertical FOV decrease at ultrawide and wider resolutions.
      Download and unpack the archive using software like 7zip or PeaZip. The password is pcgw Launch the game, followed by the tool. Press the keys as instructed. Tested the latest Microsoft Store / Game Pass version at 2560x1080, 3840x1080 and 5760x1080.
      The AR to FOV automation code is inspired by killer-m's work.
