The upcoming role-playing game, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, developed by Hardsuit Labs and published by Paradox Interactive, was initially scheduled to release in March of 2020. On their official blog, they have announced a change of plan, shifting their launch window to simply 2020.

The blog post, written by Andy Kipling and Brian Mitsoda of Hardsuit Labs, details the team's reasoning for the delay, stating:

Quote

"There’s the responsibility to avoid some of the issues that plagued the first game, which was famously launched too early. Over the last few months, it became clear that to stick to our original date would risk repeating that mistake. We won’t do that. In the end, everyone working on this game wants to offer you the best Bloodlines 2 we can. "

The previous title in the series, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, was infamously launched in an "unfinished and buggy state" back in 2004, a release state attributed directly to rushed development by many key personnel of Troika Games. Even while plagued these issues, Bloodlines is considered a classic PC title. Hardsuit Labs delaying the title to avoid mistakes of the past is an appreciated move by the community.

With the announcement of RTX support back in March, Bloodlines 2 is seemingly shaping up to be a beautiful game, and certainly a major graphical upgrade over the original. With any luck, this delay will help Bloodlines 2 trump its predecessor in every facet.

Are you disappointed by the delay for Bloodlines 2? Will you be picking it up at launch?
