The closed beta for GOG Galaxy 2.0 has finally begun. With it comes the much-touted integration functionality, allowing users to launch games without having to go through separate launchers. The current list of launchers available to integrate are Xbox Live, Battle.net, the Epic Games Store, Origin, Playstation Network, Steam, and Uplay. However, the only "official" integration is with Xbox Live. The addition of more Official Integrations should be coming sooner than later, with Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney expressing interest in integration earlier this month, also confirming that Epic Games was currently in talks with GOG regarding launcher integration.

Integrating accounts is a painless process. Opening Galaxy 2.0's settings menu will immediately bring you to the integrations tab.

The features available to each of the launcher integrations varies. GOG separates the feature list between Games (Library, Installing & Launching, Achievements, and Game Time), and Friends (Friends List, Chat, and Friend recommendations).

One of the most popular launchers on PC, Steam, has a majority of these features active.

Curiously, while Xbox Live is considered to be an "Official Integration", there are still restrictions in place similar to the "Community Integrations".

Did you get in to the Galaxy 2.0 beta?  What are your thoughts on the account integration system?

For those interested, you can sign up for the closed beta at the GOG Galaxy website.

Really sad I didn't get into the first round. Can you customize cover art yet? Anyone know the exact dimensions in use? How about background images?

@Jinx It looks like the Grid view will show all portrait tiles.

Under the Games view if you right click an item and click Edit, you get this menu:

This is a general game view:

There's also a List view:

Classic games The Lion King (1994) and Disney's Aladdin (1993) have been delisted from Steam without so much as a word.
Thankfully GOG.com have given a short warning of just over 24 hours in this forum post announcement :
Another Disney game, The Jungle Book, has been delisted from Steam but still available from GOG.com - who knows if more Disney games will be delisted in the future?

GOG have officially announced via their Twitter that a select few people have been chosen to test the new GOG Galaxy 2.0 client as part of a technical alpha.
While access to the alpha has been limited, there are some users reporting through Reddit that they have been selected and, while they're unable to share screenshots or videos of the client due to non-disclosure agreements, it appears the client is presenting all that it promised.
That means that people have been able to integrate their libraries and friends lists from Steam, Origin, Battle.net, UPlay and, as we reported recently, Microsoft/Xbox into the client.
Despite talks being "ongoing" as recently as Saturday, it would also appear that the Epic Games Store can already be linked to GOG Galaxy 2.0.

At this point it is unclear what criteria has been used to select these alpha users, but GOG confirmed as part of their announcement that this is not the closed beta. As such, those who sign up for the closed beta (which you can do through this link) will still be considered on a first-come-first-served basis for testing when the time comes. We remain unsure of when that will be exactly, but the arrival of the technical alpha does at least confirm that we're on the right track.

Tim Sweeney, CEO of Epic Games, has surprised us all by confirming that talks are ongoing with GOG.com to integrate Epic Games Store with GOG and their service, GOG Galaxy 2.0. This is surprising considering that Epic Games Store strategy has been one of exclusivity - although we note that this pertains mostly to Steam rather than Microsoft or other online distribution platforms.
      See the tweet here:
We await news on what happens next - will Epic Games Store games get any rich integrations with GOG Galaxy 2.0?

In this article in German from gamestar.de, CD Projekt head Piotr Karwoski was quoted saying:
PC Gamer has also come forward to state that GOG Galaxy 2.0 is officially partnered with Microsoft:
The battle for the ultimate PC games platform continues. Check out our (admittedly flawed) platform features overview wiki page for a comparison of Steam, GOG.com, Microsoft Store, Epic Games Store and others.
