I've created a simple BASH script that should work on any Linux distro with WINE (any version), Xephyr, and Glamor enabled. The latest version enables HW accelration via Glamor! Get it from here: https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Midtown_Madness

I wonder how much it makes sense to mention that here, instead of doing an actual proper report on the wine appdb.

Especially with some moron giving "silver" for a game that I'm not even sure has working menus, let alone in-game.

In the past (like a year and a half ago) I have posted the first version of the bash script on Wine AppDB. This is more of a "hey, just let the community know....". It is possible that some people never heard of Wine AppDB or gave up looking there because there hadn't been a good work around for years. I'm spreading the news to as many people/forums where appropriate. I will, however, update my post on Wine AppDB.
