Flawless Widescreen plugin for fixing wrong aspect ratio in 32:9 and Surround/Eyefinity resolutions. - Go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Flawless Widescreen\" and unpack the content of this archive. (If it asks about overwriting some folders, accept - it will add new files and not overwrite any existing ones.) - Start FWS and select the plugin (under Helifax section). - Enable the plugin. - Play the game. Known Issues: The MAIN MENU will be stretched (incorrect Aspect Ratio) but in-game & cinematics everything will be using correct Aspect Ratio! I can only test it in 32:9 and it works perfect! I can't test Surround/Eyfinity resolutions but it should work fine, I expect! Cheers, Helifax
  2. Marty Stratton, executive producer of Doom Eternal, has announced that Denuvo Anti-Cheat (not to be confused with Denuvo Anti-Tamper) will be removed from Doom Eternal in Update 1.1 which will be "rolled-out to players within a week". This follow the recent patch which implemented Denuvo Anti-Cheat in Doom Eternal faced backlash last Thursday. The developers will consider "giving campaign-only players the ability to play without anti-cheat software installed": The initial reason id Software implemented anti-cheat in the first place is clarified: The main announcement can be seen here on the /r/Doom subreddit: It remains remains to be seen whether id Software's decision to remove Denuvo Anti-Cheat again in Doom Eternal is permanent.
  3. Doom Eternal's latest update now include Denuvo Anti-Cheat, not to be confused with Denuvo Anti-Tamper. Unlike Anti-Tamper, Anti-Cheat runs at the ring-0 kernel level of your PC. The Anti-Cheat can be uninstalled, however it is reportedly required to run Doom Eternal, even in singleplayer mode. One consequence of this new anti-cheat software is that it is now incompatible with Proton (Linux) and its ProtonDB rating has fallen from a previous Platinum award - to completely unplayable. Irdeto, the company that maintains Denuvo, has been working on this software for quite some time and it appears that Doom Eternal is the first game to use this software. This announcement about the software was made back in March 20, 2019: In this Doom Eternal announcement of May 14, 2020, they state: Check out our Denuvo wiki article which has been updated with information about Denuvo Anti-Cheat.
  4. Bethesda appear to have accidentally released the DRM-free exe of Doom Eternal on the Bethesda.net store according to this post on /r/CrackWatch. Within the game package was an exe file which had the Denuvo-free exe. Bethesda have now patched the exe file with the correct Denuvo DRM.
  5. The release date of Doom Eternal, previously November 22, 2019, has now been pushed back to March 20, 2020. Whilst this is obviously disappointing for PC gamers, extra time to polish a game can never hurt. Doom Eternal was also pushed heavily as a launch title for Stadia in November 2019, so this delay will have other ramifications on the platform. However Bethesda are still going to be releasing games on Stadia from their back catalogue: Doom (2016), Rage 2, The Elder Scrolls Online, and Wolfenstein: Youngblood. The information about the delay came in this tweet:
