Version August 2019
65 downloadsUnpack the archive and put the modified file in \Never_Alone_Data\Managed\ within the main game folder, replacing the original. This should remove the pillarboxing (black bars) from every place. Keep in mind that it also leads to the in-game videos getting vert- (cropped). All of them can be skipped and watched again from the menu at any time, so simply setting the game resolution to 1920x1080 to do so is an option. Tested with the latest Steam version at 2560x1080. 53 downloadsDownload the archive and unpack it with software like PeaZip or 7zip. Use the included tool to patch \FadeToSilence\Binaries\FadeToSilence-Win64-Shipping.exe within the game folder. This will adjust the vertical FOV to match 16:9 and remove the pillarboxing from the menu screens and cutscenes. Tested with the latest GOG version at 2560x1080 and 3840x1080. Let me know if dialogue screens require fixing and post your save file from right before one starts to make it easier for me to trigger it. You can buy me a coffee here.

80 downloadsThe mod removes letterboxing (horizontal black bars) from every episode of the game and from the menu. There are a few videos in the game files which have embedded black bars, so they will not be affected by the mod. In episode 1, the mod may also disable subtitles because they had been hidden behind the bottom black bar and would always appear otherwise. The mod was tested with the Epic Games store version 1.3. Unpack the archive, then copy and paste the folder to your game folder, replacing the original files when prompted.
