  1. Version 1.0

    65 downloads

The patcher unlocks all resolutions unavailable in the game, whether they're narrower or wider than 1920x1080. Setting the game to a resolution wider than 16:9 results in cropped and misplaced UI elements. At 21:9, the main menu controls are accessible, whereas the rest can be reached by briefly switching to 1920x1080. At 48:9, fully navigating the menu and reading from the score screen may be impossible, though the same workaround of briefly switching to 1920x1080 may help with the menu. The gameplay and the spanned HUD appear to be without notable flaws, however it is best to avoid buying the game intending to get it fixed with this solution. It is flawed and intended to be first tested by current game owners or those willing to have a look at it in order to decide whether to ask for a refund.

    6,225 downloads

The mod has been been removing pillarboxing affecting gameplay, cutscenes and menu since game launch and up to October 29, 2019. After update 1.40, it is no longer required but still removes all pillarboxing from the menu and fixes the stretching issue caused by FidelityFX CAS. Download the archive and use the password pcgw to unpack it with software like PeaZip or 7-Zip. Launch the tool and target \en_us\client\bin\pc\wwzRetailEgs.exe in the main folder. The solution is essentially approved by the developers that said it won't be bannable, then pinned the message on their official Discord. You can buy me a coffee here.

Unpack the archive Copy all files to the game folder, binkw32.dll should be replaced In the Settings.ini file, you can change the following settings [FPS] Limit = 60 FPS limiter value Unlock = 0 Value - 1 disables FPS limiter To achieve better performance at high FPS, it is better to disable the internal FPS limiter of the game. Use Vsync or external FPS limiter to limit FPS. This game is designed to work at a constant speed, so you must have a stable FPS, otherwise you will notice a slowdown or acceleration of the game speed. Example for 120 FPS with Vsync or external FPS limiter [FPS] Limit = 120 Unlock = 1 Example for 144 FPS with Vsync or external FPS limiter [FPS] Limit = 144 Unlock = 1 [RESOLUTION] Width = 0 Height = 0 This setting can override game's horizontal and vertical resolution Example for 1920x1080 resolution [RESOLUTION] Width = 1920 Height = 1080 [GAMMA] ColorCorrection = 1 Value - 0 disables color correction Use this setting to get more natural colors [TEXTURES] ShadowMapSize = 1024 Increase this value to get better shadows quality 256 - min value 8192 - max value Lighting = 384 Increase this value to avoid artifacts in some cases 256 - the min value 8192 - the max value

  18. Version August 2019

Abzu supports 21:9 out of the box but somewhat reduces the vertical FOV compared to 16:9. At 48:9, FOV is too small for the game to be playable. The existing solution initially posted to WSGF severely increases the vertical FOV compared to 16:9. Applying one of the patchers included here will match the vertical FOV to 16:9, making each game scene look closer to how it was envisioned by the developers. Unpack the applicable archive, then use the tool to patch \AbzuGame\Binaries\Win64\AbzuGame-Win64-Shipping.exe within the game folder. Tested with the latest Origin version. You can buy me a coffee here.
  19. Version August 2019

    25 downloads

Unpack the archive and use the small patcher to target \TheGuest_Data\mainData within the game folder. This should make every resolution of every aspect ratio from 4:3 to 48:9 available to select from the game options. Tested with the latest Origin version at 2560x1080 and 5760x1080. You can buy me a coffee here.
  20. Version August 2019

    24 downloads

Unpack the archive and put the modified file in \Never_Alone_Data\Managed\ within the main game folder, replacing the original. This should remove the pillarboxing (black bars) from every place. Keep in mind that it also leads to the in-game videos getting vert- (cropped). All of them can be skipped and watched again from the menu at any time, so simply setting the game resolution to 1920x1080 to do so is an option. Tested with the latest Steam version at 2560x1080. You can buy me a coffee here.
