  4. You need to make at least 3 edits to existing articles and wait 6 hours before being able to create new articles. Like Nicereddy said, this is an anti-spam measure. We have a small guide providing the details. On a related note, if you have not looked at it yet, the Sample Article is a good place to start regarding the layout/format of a page.

    17,425 downloads

Original sources: FilePlanet (US, FR, DE, IT, ESP) This is the Far Cry AMD64 / WinXP Pro x64 Upgrade Patch. It allows the game to be run as a native 64-bit application, providing various benefits and enhancements. Note that the 64-bit version cannot be upgraded to v1.4 (the latest patch). After installing the patch, the Enhanced Content Patch should also be installed for extra content and optimizations (a link to the patch can be found on the Far Cry wiki page). Available versions of the patch: English (US UK) French (FR) German (DE) Italian (IT) Spanish (ESP) Here is the list of fixes and major notes: AMD64 Patch additions There is a known issue with the external application settings tool and newer GPU's. Using the auto detect feature in-game will properly detect and apply the correct systems settings. Resolved an issue where the dedicated/non-dedicated Server server crashes when a user uses “ \rcon start_server “ console command There is a known issue in Multiplayer where entering or exiting a ladder may cause the user gun to disappear. The client simply needs to switch weapons to make the gun reappear. Uninstalling the AMD64 bit version will not remove the CD-key. To manually remove the CD-key or Ubi.com settings from the registry, follow these steps: Click Start / Run. Tyep “regedit†and press enter. Navigate through the registry tree in the left window to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Crytek\FarCry\Ubi.com. Right click on the CD Key registry and click delete. Server and client versions of patch 1.31 and 1.32 will work together but it is highly recommended that users up-grade to the same patch version of both the client and the server. To ensure that opening movies play correctly the user must install the same language version of the AMD64 bit patch that is resident on their computer. Fixed a graphical issue with tunnel textures in the Stronghold map. Punk Buster is not enabled on the AMD64 version and Punk Buster toggles do not appear in server menus. Fixed an issue in Multiplayer where a player occasionally gets stuck on geometry in the mp_gorge_amd64 map. Fixed an issue where LAN server disappears from the LAN Server List after using the cvar “sv_severtype lanâ€. Note “SV_servertype UBI/LAN†should only be used before-creating a new server via console to define the type of the server. It will not change the status of an existing server. Optimized and refactored code to take advantage of 64 bit architecture Added Offset bump mapping support Patch 1.32 change log Fixed a Shader Model 3.0 issue that caused graphics corruption on new ATI hardware. Set the game to detect nVidia hardware to avoid shaders being compiled at run time. Recompiled the 32-bit version with a different version of STL to address some server slowdowns. The README file provided with the patch can be found under <base game folder>\Support\AMD64
  8. I can maintain it, but I might need some guidelines on what can be considered "featured".

  16. Well, like Mirth said, we have no idea how the newer games you mentioned will perform. We could not give you an accurate suggestion on a proper video card. That being said, I would highly recommend upgrading to 8 GB of RAM. It's considered the standard amount now and would give an overall boost regardless of video card choice. The general consensus (as far as I can tell) is that Nvidia is pricey but stable, and AMD is cheaper but iffy with certain games (ex. any id Tech 5 game runs horribly on AMD). Keep in mind that this is a vast over-simplification of the differences. Ultimately, you will need to do the research to determine what works for you. Personally, I would go with AMD. (For those wondering, 15,000 rupees = ~$245 USD)
  17. The problem I find with the current format is that it's too general. It does not cover cases like if the screenshot is in-game, external, or launcher-based, specific naming guidelines are not available to give a consistent label for each one, and the "_-_" portion feels like unnecessarily extending a file name length. A file name should be as short as possible, while still providing the most amount of information. Here's the format I use: <full game name>_<menu type (left blank if in-game)>_<menu purpose ("general" or "advanced" added if needed)>_<image series # (if applicable)>.png Examples: Command_and_Conquer_Red_Alert_3_Video.png Serious_Sam_HD_The_First_Encounter_Advanced_Video_GPU_1.png
  18. An issue I'm seeing is that even with the guidelines, images are still being named haphazardly with little in the way of consistency. We should try creating a new recommended format (the current one I personally think is somewhat redundant) and some general file names to be used for most cases (general video, audio, external general, etc.). Once that is settled, the Policy should be enforced as to actually be effective. Thoughts on this?
  19. Thanks. At least we have something. If you can spare the time, try making something more stylish. Otherwise, it's perfect. On an OS related note, should we try to differentiate Mac OS and OS X logo-wise (i.e. make current logo for OS X and a new Finder logo for Mac OS)?
  20. While the table has been working great so far, there is still one nagging issue left: DOS still needs a logo. It's pretty jarring having text next to proper icons.

  25. Soeb and I decided that the categories used previously for the Files section needed an overhaul. Files were becoming hard to find without a link and categories were being disproportionately used. So new categories and sub-sections were created to better suit and organize our files. A quick rundown of the (current) layout: Applications (for standalone applications and software)General (a catch-all for anything that doesn't fit in the categories that are available) Demos (official game demos and shareware go here) Full games (for complete and (legally) free games. Pirated software and abandonware are not proper submissions!) Dedicated servers (for software needed to run a dedicated multiplayer server for a game) Tools (no longer a standalone category. For applications that have specific and technical uses) DLL files (Same as before) Game fixes (for game-specific fixes)General (a catch-all for anything that doesn't fit in the categories that are available) Official patches (for patches officially provided by the developer) Unofficial patches (for patches created by the community) Gamepad configurations (for controller-based fixes and custom button mapping files) Scripts (no longer a standalone category) Extra game content (NEW! For extra developer and community-created game content)Official content (for developer-created content) Community content (for smaller community-created content like map packs, models, etc.) Mods (for community-created game modifications. This is NOT the same as the Community content sub-section!) Other (Same as before. For anything that doesn't fit in any of the other categories) Any category with sub-sections will have the root category act as a hub. Eventually, submissions to the root category will no longer be allowed, so please add future submissions to the most appropriate sub-section.
