  16. InstallShield 5 32-bit Generic Installer

    Original source: ReactOS Forums

This is a generic 32-bit version of the InstallShield 5 setup engine. This file can be used as a replacement installer for games that use 16-bit versions of InstallShield 5.

To determine if the game uses InstallShield, check the list of files that are in the setup directory (normally, there should be a dedicated folder for the installer somewhere on the game disk). If the file "_inst32i.ex_" is included, then the game uses InstallShield in some form.

From there, the version of the installer currently used needs to be verified to ensure that the replacement file will work. In the setup folder, find a "SETUP.EXE", "SETUP32.EXE", or other similarly named files. Once the installer is found, right click it, select "Properties", and go to the "Version"/"Details" tab. If the "Product version" and/or "File version" fields have a value along the lines of 5.xx.xxx.x, then the game uses version 5 of the setup engine and is compatible with this file.

For specific details on installer use, check the game article that requires it.
For generic instructions, check the link at the top of this description.

  17. No One Lives Forever patch

    Original file: http://www.gamefront.com/files/1425154/NOLFUpdate003_exe

This is the v1.003 patch for No One Lives Forever. The latest patch release is v1.004 (a link to the patch can be found on the No One Lives Forever wiki page).

Note that the game requires this patch before upgrading to v1.004. Also, saved games from v1.0 are not compatible with the patch (v1.001 and v1.002 will still work). Finally, the installer provided with the patch is not compatible with 64-bit systems. For full compatibility, an alternate installer is required (see InstallShield 3 32-bit Generic Installer).
Here is the list of fixes:
Fixed a multiplayer exploit that allowed player created add-ons with modified weapon.txt files to be used on normal, non-modified servers. Players using these add-ons will now receieve an error message when trying to join a normal server or a server that's running a different add-on.NOTE: This message will also appear if a player with an unmodified version of the game tries to join a modified server. Server operators who wish to use these mods should note the name of the add-on within the server name field.

[*]Fixed a multiplayer bug that sometimes caused players crouching near the terrain to randomly teleport through the map and pick up any weapons or powerups that they came across.
[*]Fixed a multiplayer bug that allowed players to activate vehicles while using the zipcord and then fly around the map.
[*]Fixed a bug that caused the player to fly up into the air when entering a cloud of sleeping gas from below.
[*]Fixed a bug in the multiplayer host menu that caused only 3 of the available bandwidth options to be shown when scrolling through with the right-arrow key.
    [*]Removed Stun/Sleep Recoils.
[*]Fixed a bug in the standalone server wizard that caused certain options to be reset when any slider bar on the same page was moved.
[*]Fixed floating ammo boxes and armor powerups in saved games.

    Original file: http://www.gamefront.com/files/files/604412/avp2_en_sp1.exe

This is the Aliens versus Predator 2 Single Player Map Update #1. It is the latest version available.

Note that this update requires Patch v1.0.9.6 to be installed first (which can be found on the Aliens versus Predator 2 wiki page).

Here is the list of fixes:
Removed an environment map from two textures to work around a Voodoo 5 rendering crash in Betrayal.
Removed a scripted sequence with a guard and facehugger in Betrayal that could fail to trigger correctly under certain rare circumstances.
Modified a scripted sequence in the crew quarters in Betrayal which could allow a fast-moving player to get to the end of the level without collecting the hacking tool.
Added a blocker to prevent the player from wedging themselves in beneath the containment module at the beginning of Unexpected Allies.
Removed an old AI trigger that could potentially have allowed guards to close and lock the door leading to the predator mask in Unexpected Allies, preventing further progress.
Prevented a situation in Unexpected Allies where gathering two items at the exact same instant could prevent the exit door from opening.
Prevented a situation in New Target where a player could survive a fall to the bottom of a deep pit and thus get stuck.
Modified a situation in Surprise which could close a door later in the level if the player pounced up into the air between electrical fields and over the end of the alleyway.
