  2. Hi. I've played through the game with the tool always on and haven't had a crash apart from one type in the Fugitives chapter also reported by non-ultrawide users and presumably fixed in a game update since then. There is no way for me to know whether the crashes you had are related to the tool or the game itself, so it is not something I can investigate without specific details and save files that would let me reproduce the issue.
  3. Version 1.0

The patch removes the letterboxing (top and bottom black bars) from the game at all resolutions. Simply unpack the files to the main game folder (e.g. \Batman The Telltale Series\) At 21:9, use it alongside the TelltaleWidescreenPatcher. Tested the latest Steam and GOG versions at 2560x1080. After 13 hours on research into the issue in a disassembler following a request, going with 3dmigoto made the solution incomparably simpler. You can buy me a coffee here.
  4. Version 1.0

The tool removes black bars from most areas at wide resolutions and allows to adjust FOV in real time. Compared to the Shenmue Dojo solution, it does not affect the journal and does not result in a severe FOV increase at 32:9 and wider. Unpack the archive with software like 7zip or PeaZip - the password is pcgw Launch the game and make sure the window mode is set to Borderless (or set FullscreenMode=0 and ResolutionSize in GameUserSettings for fullscreen) Launch the tool Press the hotkeys as desired The pre-rendered videos, menu screens and HUD will not scale to the screen width. All trainers based on CE components may trigger some anti-virus software. Tested the latest Epic version at 2560x1080, 3840x1080 and 5760x1080. Huge thanks to Johnnius_Maximus and Ultrawide Benchmarks for generously funding the mod!
  5. Version 1.0

The tool allows to adjust FOV in real time and remove black bars from cutscenes at wide resolutions. It also includes FOV presets for 21:9, 32:9 and 48:9. Unpack the archive with software like 7zip or PeaZip - the password is pcgw Launch the game first, followed by the tool. Stretched FMVs and potential lack of controls to browse through the legendary animals menu are known issues. Press arrow keys at the latter. All trainers based on CE components may trigger some anti-virus software. Briefly tested the latest GOG version at 2560x1080, 3840x1080 and 5760x1080. You can buy me a coffee here.
  6. What is the issue? It worked fine for me. Keep in mind that you have to switch to Borderless or Fullscreen through the in-game menu for the latest version to work. Pressing alt+enter or selecting Windowed is no longer an option because of the aspect ratio detection feature I had implemented.
  7. Thank you for the kind words! Game developers are like movie directors. Shooting a game scene at 48:9 or even wider to cater to every user would mean making sure that no elements are out of place and nothing pops in. It is a few times more space to cover and think of. One widely known scene to explain this that I mentioned in an earlier comment is the appearance of the coffee cup in Game of Thrones. Imagine how many more elements they would have to remove or take into consideration if they shot at a wider aspect ratio. It's possible to hire more people for QA at wider resolutions but I suppose their thinking is that the few percent that are ultrawide and multimonitor users aren't worth the investments and rebuilding some of the assets for. As for whether it's hard to mod games for ultrawide support - provided you have a good understanding of assembly and software hacking in general, time is the biggest obstacle. Digging through the code, changing the code or injecting new code and testing the game can take many hours and several days of non-stop work. For Detroit in particular it's taken me about 20 fully dedicated hours on it without any distractions to deliver the latest version. If I were to chat, browse the web, play, cook food or what have you, it would have taken days at best. I always say that anything is hackable but our time is limited and we have to choose how to use it. It's easy to get burned out. There's a reason assembly is one of the least liked languages among programmers.
  8. Yes, even an empty trainer built in Cheat Engine will cause that. You can easily test it yourself. It's possible through the File menu of the app.
  9. You launch the game first, then the tool. It sees the process regardless of the files' location, unless your anti-virus software is getting in the way.
  10. Thanks for reporting it and telling me how to reproduce the issue. I noticed that it also affected the game menu, though it wasn't as noticeable. I hotfixed it.
  11. Can you share a save file and tell me where to go to see that cutscene? Does pressing the alt toggle key not help?
  12. Hi! Thanks for reporting the issue. I fixed it
  13. I think that was supported out of the box? Regardless, after 4 more hours on the mod, I made it that it now adapts to the current screen or window size, regardless of what it is. I also added keys for custom UI adjustment.
  14. I think we're all experiencing it. https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Halo:_The_Master_Chief_Collection https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/ReadySet_Heroes I'm sure @snuxoll will take care of it.
  15. Thanks for reporting the issue. You were right. I fixed it
  16. Enable/disable should become and stay green indeed. The rest of the text briefly turning green sadly isn't indicative of anything. I would try disabling Defender, though it is up to you!
  17. All I can think of is anti-virus software getting in the way. I doubt freesync would have any effect on the game refreshing its state after a display mode change.
  18. The trainer injects new code, so it is not limited to replacing bytes.
  19. The current version works on my end. I'm also updating the trainer to better support 3440x1440 resolutions, though it will not help if you are getting 16:9 image pillarboxed as opposed to 2560x1080 slightly pillarboxed. Do you have the latest EGS version of the game, not the demo used to run it illegally?
  20. Based on the current findings, it wouldn't be reliable. I know Quantic Dream haven't been updating Heavy Rain and Beyond at all but I don't want to make anyone depend on me. The trainer is less likely to be affected by game updates
  21. Version 0.9.9

The tool removes black bars from the game at 21:9, 32:9, 48:9 and other wide resolutions. Download and unpack the archive using software like 7zip or PeaZip. The password is pcgw Launch the game Launch the tool Press the "Enable" key While in the game, briefly switch to the Borderless or Fullscreen mode. Use the tool to manually adjust the UI size at 32:9 and wider resolutions. Known issues: Stretched loading screens and rare FMVs. Minor UI display and alignment issues. Use the UI adjustment keys if necessary. The window mode switching requirement is also undesirable, hence the version number! Tested the latest Epic version at 2560x1080, briefly at 3840x1080, 5760x1080, 5120x2160 and 7680x1080 on a single monitor. You can buy me a coffee here.
  22. Version 1.0

The patchers for 21:9, 32:9 and 48:9 resolutions remove black bars from the game. GOG players can simply unpack the archive and use the applicable patcher to modify \PlanetAlpha\Binaries\Win64\PlanetAlpha-Win64-Shipping.exe Steam players must follow the first steps of this guide. Getting errors at launch means you haven't done it! Press Alt+Enter to select your resolution if the game starts "zoomed in" (unrelated to the patchers). Tested the latest Steam version at 2560x1080, 3840x1080 and 5760x1080. You can buy me a coffee here.
  23. You probably have the game exe patched for more FOV and you're adding even more to it with the trainer? Try verifying the game files and only using the trainer. Make sure there are no config modifications to the FOV.
