  1. It is possible but the background appears to be limited in width, so that just results in stretching. I don't think it's optimal.
  2. Version 1.0

Unpack the files to the game folder so that they are next to Observation.exe to remove the cinematic letterboxing (horizontal black bars). Tested the latest version at 2560x1080 and 1680x1050 on the first and one of the last levels. Let me know in the comments if you still come across letterboxing and attach your save files so I can take a look.
  3. Version 1.0

By default, Mafia II Definitive Edition not only adds black bars to all cutscenes at 21:9 and wider but also simultaneously vertically "crops" pre-recorded FMVs. The two included patchers serve as two options (don't use both!): Remove all black bars - FMVs stay cropped (vert- from 16:9). Remove black bars only from rendered cutscenes and fix FMV scaling. Tested the latest Steam version primarily at 2560x1080, briefly at 3440x1440 and 5760x1080. You can buy me a coffee here or support me on patreon.
  4. Hi. I addressed it in a recent comment here. As much as I would like to, the wiki rules do not allow me to provide step-by-step instructions for unpacking the exe.
  5. You can. Just launch the game first, then the Xbox version of the tool. No need to install anything but it has to be launched every time you play.
  6. One of my suggestions to incorporate both ideas was to look at the way music album chronology is done on Wikipedia, as seen here: It's not as much information at a glance as there used to be but it's also not as bad as having to always go to the series page to navigate the articles. The code for the template is here. I would not say I see it as the perfect solution or one I would personally enjoy the most but it's an option to consider.
  7. I made a trainer for it following your request.
  8. Every feature is still working on my end on the same build. I tested it right after the update a few days ago and then again today. Make sure you have the latest version of the tool downloaded from here and that your anti-virus settings are not getting in the way.
  9. Updated both tools to work around the issue. (the letterboxing can be removed as well but it's not shown)
  10. It looks like the game makes use of static 1920x1080 images as backgrounds that just don't have enough width to fill the screen at 2560x1080 or wider, which is why the overall width is also hardcoded to be 1920. The game can be hacked to fill the whole screen but it will look quite broken. Here is one of the main background textures from the first level:
  11. The game has been updated with changes to affect the first step of the patching and then the second pattern must have not been reliable enough to work with the new version. I made a new patcher just now.
  12. Thanks, masterboy9. I intentionally avoided overwriting the old FWS script so that a repo update wouldn't restore the one by HaYDeN. I did my best to separate the new from the old - there's a new name, background, and even icons. It's also under WSGF Plugins, not FWS Plugins. The crucial "(updated)" part is in step 4 of the instructions and also in the last screenshot.
  13. Version 1.1

A total overhaul of the old Flawless Widescreen script for GTA V that has been dysfunctional for many months if not longer. As before, it allows for fine-tuning of FOV per each view - first person, in-vehicle, ADS, and third person. It also allows to remove the pillarboxing at cutscenes at 21:9 and wider, although having the latter enabled may cause some confirmation prompts to disappear at 32:9 and wider until disabled. Download and install Flawless Widescreen. Download this script and unpack the archive. Put its contents in the main Flawless Widescreen folder (usually \Program Files (x86)\Flawless Widescreen\). Launch Flawless Widescreen, select Grand Theft Auto V (updated) and set everything to preference. Tested the latest game version at 2560x1080, 3440x1440, 3840x1080, and 5760x1080. You can buy me a coffee.
  14. Hi. I downloaded and unpacked the file without issues. Try a different browser like Internet Explorer or Edge that already come with Windows 10. Sometimes the site may also have issues that I have no control over. The server admin takes care of them.
  15. Hi. Check the settings of your anti-virus software and make sure the files are excluded from scans. I can't think of any other reason you wouldn't be able to run both.
  16. Version 1.0.1

The trainer allows for real-time FOV adjustment in the game. Unpack the archive - the password is pcgw Launch the game Launch the tool and press the keys as instructed The underlying script is built around the FOV bytes for Shantae found by czarman. For permanent changes or manual adjustment, modify the first instance of those bytes in a hex editor. Tested the latest Steam version.
  17. Version 1.0

The patchers remove the vertical black bars from the game at 21:9 and 32:9 resolutions. Inspired by czarman's 32:9 solution for Shantae. Simply use the applicable tool to patch the game exe as instructed. Tested the latest Steam version at 2560x1080, 3440x1440 and 3840x1080.
  18. Version 1.0

The tool allows to adjust FOV in real time and remove the black bars from cutscenes and dialogue scenes at 21:9 and other common wider resolutions. Unpack the archive with software like 7zip - the password is pcgw Launch the game Launch the tool Press the keys as instructed Tested the latest Epic Games Store version at 2560x1080, 3440x1440, 3840x1080 and 5760x1080. You can buy me a coffee here.
  19. Hi. Do you have a legally purchased copy of the game? Edit: Downloaded the game and tested the solution - still working.
  20. Version 0.5.1

The patchers remove black bars at 21:9 and 32:9 resolutions, matching the vertical gameplay FOV of 16:9. After unpacking the archive, select the patcher that best matches your resolution, then target the file found in \DisasterReport4\Binaries\Win64\ inside the game folder. Known issues: UI misalignment. Press alt+enter to briefly switch to Windowed if you have a hard time navigating the main menu. The compass can be disabled altogether through a game option. Occasional flickering at cutscenes when the game transitions between scenes through snapshots. FOV is adjusted to the gameplay, resulting in a slight vertical decrease at the cutscenes. Tested the latest GOG version at 2560x1080, 3440x1440 and 3840x1080. Verify your game files, adapt and follow the first steps of the Bloodstained guide if you encounter an error message after patching the Steam version of the game. You can buy me a coffee here.
  21. Version 1.0

The tool allows for real-time FOV adjustment and contains pre-set values to match the gameplay FOV at ultrawide resolutions to the vertical of 16:9, with slight deviations at the cutscenes and fight screens. Unpack the archive with software like 7zip or PeaZip - the password is pcgw Launch the game Launch the tool Press the hotkeys to go with a preset or manually adjust FOV in real time Tested the latest Steam version kindly provided by cheswick of /r/ultrawidemasterrace at 2560x1080, 3840x1080 and 5760x1080, although the UI spanning would be very inconvenient at the latter. Please let me know whether this works in the Microsoft Store version, or tell me the process name for it. You can buy me a coffee here.
  22. Thanks. It would be nice to give credit to jackfuste who posted the vignette bytes for RE2 and Cielos who posted the Cheat Table which included the anti-cheat bytes now found within the FWS script.
  23. Tested as working in the latest Game Pass version in the "Anti-Cheat Disabled" mode just now. I don't have access to the Steam version but it should be on par with this one.
  24. See if it's the right exe now.
