    The patchers remove pillarboxing and increase FOV to make up for the default vert- behavior and match the vertical gameplay value of 16:9. They can also be used at 16:9 to increase FOV in 3 increments depending on the patcher selected. Unpack the applicable archive and patch \CNB\Binaries\Win64\CNB-Win64-Shipping.exe found in the main game folder. Tested the latest EGS version at 2560x1080, 3840x1080 and 5760x1080.     Unpack the archive and put the "ultrawide" (for 21:9) or "superwide" (for 32:9) folder in "mods" within the main game folder. Launch the game and enable the mod by checking its box Quit the game Open %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Nolla_Games_Noita\save_shared\config.xml in a text editor and change internal_size_w="1280" to internal_size_w="1707" (for 21:9) or internal_size_w="2560" (for 32:9) Launch the game again - the mod should be working now!   3. It does in most cases. Dialogue screens are the only parts I know of that have reduced vertical FOV but also increased horizontal FOV.
  4. Thanks for the feedback. There have been other reports of the config addition resetting FOV. Do you think that the 21:9 adjustment from the trainer without the ini tweak is too narrow? You could try the 32:9 option at 21:9
  5. It must be related to the ini tweak rather than the trainer or patchers. See if setting the file to read-only helps.

    The trainer for Xbox Game Pass and patchers for EGS and future versions remove pillarboxing (black bars) from real-time rendered cutscenes, menu and dialogue screens and offer the option to adjust FOV to match that of 16:9. Use software like PeaZip or 7zip to unpack the archives. The password is pcgw Removing the pillarboxing results in more horizontal FOV, more or less vertical FOV at dialogue depending on the tool used, and no vertical decrease at menu and terminal screens. The 32:9 option can also be used to achieve more vertical and horizontal FOV at 21:9. Making changes to Engine.ini to increase FOV through Y-axis calculation is no longer recommended, as it gets reset by finishers and possibly other in-game events. Make sure the config is in its default state to avoid FOV issues. The mod does not address the cropping of the viewmodel and stretching of FMVs. In order to force unsupported resolutions, edit GameUserSettings.ini and set the ResolutionSizeX=, ResolutionSizeY=, DesiredScreenWidth=, DesiredScreenHeight= values as desired - e.g. 5760 and 1080. Getting into the settings in the game will undo the changes, so make sure to have configured the game to preference prior to editing the config. You can buy me a coffee here.

  8. That was absolutely untrue and caused by user error. I had no issue unlocking the PS4-exclusive content and patching the game for 48:9 as of version 1.04, prior to the rollback.

    Unpack the applicable archive and use the tool to patch the exe in \MoonMan\Binaries\Win64\ within the main folder. This will adjust FOV to match the vertical of 16:9. The tool also aims to remove all pillarboxing except from pre-rendered cutscenes but this may come at the cost of reduced FOV in the starting cutscene. Some further cutscenes are confirmed as having more horizontal FOV but there is no way to guarantee every cutscene will display correctly without playing through the game.   11. I have no interest in a platform that is absolutely hostile to modding, making something as simple as ultrawide hacks impossible. It might succeed to some degree but Google are indeed known for eagerly abandoning their projects unless they're hugely successful.

    The patchers remove pillarboxing from the game at 21:9, 32:9 and 48:9, resulting in more horizontal FOV. Some of the in-game images and cutscenes do not appear to be wide enough to fully fill the screen, but the main cutscenes, menu and gameplay become free of black bars. Unpack the archives using software like PeaZip or 7-Zip and pcgw as the password, then patch \ChildrenOfMorta_Data\Managed\Assembly-CSharp.dll within the game folder.   19. The patchers were never intended to work with the MS store version, as it protects files and prevents modification. I uploaded a trainer for the MS store version today, so try that out instead.
