  1. Some questions can't be answered with a straight Yes or No. 1. If I see one in a store kiosk, or a friend of mine has one, I'll give it a shot. 2. According to their official speedtest, I have 71 Mbps of speed, which should be more than fast enough for it. 3. I don't know what kind of business model Google is targeting with this device. At the very least, games sold through Stadia will make PC game sales stronger. 4. Potentially, since it is a console, it has the "plug in and play" mindset to spread, while the games it plays will be PC games. 5. Depending entirely on how successful the project is. Could be the next Ouya, could be the next Xbox (a valid contender but can't claim the top spot). 6. Google has extremely deep pockets for marketing, much like Sony in the 90's. Their product might not be the best, but it will be the best advertised for sure.
  2. I feel like this is a rather quick PC release from Rockstar, though it is a year and a month after the console release. Since it's going to be a Stadia launch title, I feel like the only reason they're releasing it this soon is because Google and Epic paid them to make it.
  3. Notice how not a single soul complains about this while people will throw a fit over games being exclusive to EGS. People who complain about EGS don't have their priorities right.
  4. Man this sucks. Bethesda and Rockstar have the monopoly on games with mod support, but Rockstar will do anything to prevent people from modding them. At least their games are good enough without depending on mods, unlike Bethesda.
  5. So wait, games cannot be released on EGS and Steam at the same time? This sounds like something Yamauchi's Nintendo would've demanded; either their games are exclusive or they don't come over.
  6. Let's not forget the entirety of 6th gen which was awkward as hell. Multiplats released on everything, even the N-Gage, but not PC? PC gets a game that has the same name as the console game, but it's an entirely different game? I thought the 2000s were the home computer boom, why was PC gaming so gimped then? Was the PS2 really that mighty?
  7. Microsoft is only really into it because they remembered they own Windows, the OS that most PC games run on. Kind of a bird brained move of them to abandon Windows as soon as they released the Xbox, considering it wasn't even their competitor.
  8. Considering Death Stranding left the PS4 exclusive page but Spiderman is still there, it's unlikely it will ever set foot on another platform.
  9. I remember theorizing that Marvel's Spiderman would eventually leave the PS4, strictly due to Marvel owning the character after all and they have final judgment, though the recent news about Spiderman leaving Marvel has changed my mind.
  10. NIS America has posted a video trailer showcasing a localization of the formerly Japan exclusive game, and in it they mention PC as one of the platforms it's coming to. The release date is a simple "Early 2020". However, given NISA's track record with PC ports, not to mention NIS Japan games entirely avoiding the platform as of recently, caution should be exercised.
  11. The Decima engine seems like a pretty flimsy excuse for exclusivity; Sony also developed the PhyreEngine and many games that use it are multiformat. That being said, the fact news like this makes the rounds goes to show that Sony undoubtedly has the games people want and care about.
  12. Well that was odd, for a split moment I thought it was gonna be a console exclusive.
  13. I really doubt Activision gives a hoot about the PC platform, why invest in optimization when all your money comes from consoles? If anything this seems like a desperate clutch to make the PC versions more lively, PC CoD has dismal player numbers and this is just one bandaid to the solution. If Activision cared about PC, they wouldn't arbitrarily withhold crash/spyro games to resell them a year later, PC is just some place where they bait as much money as possible from.
  14. They're doing it because PC gamers will grovel at the feet of any corporation and will buy the expansion to "show support". Exploiting the mindset of "PC isn't as profitable as consoles" has gone a long way to ensure ports of old games no one would've wanted are still successful, not to mention the myriad "buyer beware" ports with community fixes.
  15. Wow, one month after the console release, that's impressive. Shame about the upcoming 7even game being a PS4 exclusive, looks like the Sony money is extremely tantalizing. Apparently the series producer will leave because of Sony's strict content policies, which conflicts with his own artistic visions, but hey, I guess throwing your flagship to the guillotine for some quick cash was worth it!
  16. Hot take: EGS is a ploy funded by the console manufacturers (at least a certain Japanese one who donated 6 games) in an attempt to kill the PC platform, now that it's at an upswing, and for the first time matching console revenue. What better way to divide the userbase, piss of paying customers to justify piracy, and giving developers second thoughts about PC when they can just make games only for consoles?
  17. GTX 750 Ti for a Tetris game? Thank you Enhance (under the supervision of Sony), very cool!
  18. What's more interesting is this might be the first this series breaks out of Japan. I think that alone is news-worthy, this series has been pretty much an importer staple. That being said, this is another typical Japanese slap-dash port of some old game they had lying around, in an attempt to round up funds for a new console entry. Since it's built primarily for all 16 Japanese PC gamers, expect a 60FPS cap, no ultrawide support, and resolution capped at 900p because the PS4 had those restrictions, why should the PC version be any different? This is also going to be released on the Switch, a platform whose userbase will accept anything in the name of portability, so we can expect a low quality PC version with such robust settings as "graphics - what/no", "resolution - 1600x900/1920x1080 (900p upscaled)", and "vsync - yes/no (vsync on)".
  19. I doubt Anno 1800 is singlehandedly responsible for the PC revenue. What matters more is PC version vs console version sales, if a game sells better on consoles then it explains their anti-PC stance and awful PC ports. It all becomes muddled when you throw in either PC exclusive games or free to play games with microtransactions. Just because PC accounts for 34% of their revenue doesn't mean that PC versions sell well. What about the rest of the publishers? I firmly believe consoles are at the leading position in revenue, which explains delayed PC ports or PC not getting games at all.
  20. I still don't understand why they imposed an FPS cap, especially at a value as random as 90, when the game operated just fine for years. I suspect it's something similar to what happened to Gauntlet 2014, where if the FPS was unlocked, people's computers would be working overtime and potentially overheat their components, laptops in particular. If you complain about it enough, they may fix it, provided you don't get walled by the "you physically cannot see the difference between 60 and 120 fps" and "we used to play on PS2s bro, it's not a big deal" people. Those people, in addition to double dippers, need to be rounded up and hanged. It's quickly becoming the final solution to ensure good PC ports, eliminate the sycophants.
  21. In all fairness, at least GTAV supports aspect ratios besides 16:9 and framerates above 60. EDF5 is yet another straight PS4 port, capped to PS4 resolution and locked to PS4 framerate. I was going to just dismiss it for being Japanese, but a lot of newer Japanese ports are starting to support more arbitrary PC features. Thank goodness I still have a 60hz 1080p monitor, I can't even imagine the displeasure of most games not supporting high FPS or ultrawide, I can barely stomach 30FPS anymore.
  22. Man I had a blast with EDF 4.1 on PC, was kinda miffed they didn't release 5 on PC at the same time as consoles. I was tempted to buy the DLC for the game in the meantime, but at least the sequel is coming out. It's very unfortunate that every Japanese publisher and their mother is adopting the Rockstar approach to PC. Edit: Apparently the top down shmup spinoff, "Wing Diver the Shooter", was released on PC last year, and strangely appears that this is the only western release of the game.
  23. Say what you want about him, but you can't deny that he revolutionized the company. It was his idea to reboot old IPs like Pitfall the Mayan Adventure, which was one of the first major games to get a computer port that wasn't a joke.
