    "By default, the mouse has an acceleration/smoothing effect that can't be disabled in game. It can supposedly be changed via an .xml file but I personally didn't see a difference, although others have reported otherwise" There's a straightforward and objective way to test whether acceleration is present: Stick your finger on your desk, and move the side of your mouse firmly against it. Move your mouse away slowly, then back to the same position against your finger quickly. If there's no acceleration, your cursor/view should be back where it was. If there is acceleration, it will be much further on, because of the differences in speed. If there's any doubt, do it a few more times; the effects are cumulative.
