  1. The first time I played through I accidentally Gatecrashed the first guard, which would have made the level impossible to complete. The second time through was a quite simple, I liked the puzzle. However the rest of the level (green circuit, blue door at the top?) seemed superfluous and could have been cut. It would be interesting to create some kind of custom Gunpoint campaign where you have to keep every guard alive, or manipulate them into the right place to help you complete a level. It would make for an interesting story too.
  2. I just wanted to bring this up in as a topic- should custom levels be designed with Gatecrashers in mind? It seems like having this upgrade (only attainable by completing the last level) is quite overpowered and trivialises some of the level design.
  3. Thanks for everyone's input :). I actually was commissioned by PC Gamer to write a piece on SpecialEffect (a UK charity for gamers who are disabled) and have submitted it, will post up a link when it's ready.
  4. I've enabled posting of .LVL extension, so you can just go ahead and attach these to your posts directly. In addition to posting single threads for each level, I'd suggest putting in a screenshot too.
  5. Reuploading this to provide individual level feedback: Quite a tough level but a lot of fun. Here's a screenshot to show I completed it. Black Onyxs Map Of Mass Mayhem.lvl
  6. Excited about getting a chance to do a proper playthrough today :). Anyone finished it yet? What's the overall play time like. Also, has anyone experimented with the custom level editor yet.
  7. It seems like there isn't an official resource for hosting Gunpoint game levels produced by the level editor. There isn't an official forum, and the Steam Community Discussion forum won't take attachments. There also doesn't seem to be any Steam Workshop type interface. Anyway we would welcome people using this forum as a place to share levels, which appear to be only a few KB in size. Level installation instructions: 1. Navigate to: \Steam\steamapps\common\Gunpoint\levels\ 2. Download the .LVL file there.
  8. Thanks this is now installed, Soeb is working on implementing it at the moment.
  9. Very nice job guys :) proud of everyone and the resource we're working so hard to build together.
  10. I've been speaking to Piotr, and future GOG.com review codes will be made available on an individual basis. Therefore when we get the next batch of games, I'll be posting them up in the Assignments forum for people to apply to. You are free to pre-empt me and post up multiple requests for ANY GOG.com game.
  11. This is a general issue with the way these sites grab images.. big problem on Facebook as well. Basically I need to make the infobox image the default one for reddit and Facebook, and backup to the logo. If someone cleverer than me can help please..
  12. That sounds good Garrett, would you be able to implement this please?

  15. http://www.humblebundle.com/ I can see some work has already started on this - let's get all of the Double Fine games up to date: http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Psychonauts http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Stacking http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Costume_Quest http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Br%C3%BCtal_Legend
  16. I think it'll be easier for everyone just to be more aware of the Steam sales in general. I don't think editing a page listing game sales will be that effective as it'll be quite labour intensive. Maybe we can link directly to this thread. You are also free to reply here to update your progress on the thread with what you have updated.
  17. The Bug Bin's goals do align with ours, but they have a long way to go in terms of professionalism and delivery if they want to get an audience. Their podcasts are really really awful, rambly and rather cringeworthy to listen to, especially the bit where he starts talking to the site 'mascot' (clearly his own voice run through some kind of stupid audio filter) - http://thebugbin.com/blog/category/podcast/
  18. There's no need to remove content at this stage just because it doesn't contain a fix. The inspiration for the wiki was for listing game fixes - however the future holds potential for a much broader scope. At the very least, holding information on release dates, urls of forums, etc. is very useful information, and forms the basis of a fuller article. It allows people to see the structure of the page, and to add fixes as they are developed, and it also helps our Google rankings a great deal. At some point, we need to write a mission statement to make it clear what each article is aiming for. At this stage, I would say it is something like 'all the technical information a gamer needs about a PC game' or 'one user-editable page for every PC game listing all issues and fixes and technical information'. Just because it lacks a fix doesn't mean that we can't also use the article to list all issues and technical information.
  19. As soon as a PC game goes on sale on Steam, people start searching for fixes. I'd like for us to get the word out there that PCGamingWiki can help them with getting all the fixes they need. I am looking for help with making sure that when every Steam sale hits at 6pm, all of our relevant articles are: 1) Up to date and cleaned up to a decent standard - Getting the article to meet the sample article standard - Attempting to update and make sure that issues that have been patched are removed - Adding 'essential' mods and patches that have been developed since release 2) Linked to in the appropriate forums in a non-spammy way This can often be making posts with titles such as: - For everyone who bought GAMENAME on sale- fixes for FOV, remapping, etc. - Everything you need to know about GAMENAME to get it restored and working on modern OSes (for more general gaming forums) - Only the biggest most substantial releases need to be highlighted in this way, and perhaps only making posts once or twice a week at the most. I am specifically referring to 3 types of Steam sale, the: 'Weekend sale' (Thursday 6pm GMT) 'Midweek madness' (Tuesday 6pm GMT) 'Daily deal' (Daily 6pm GMT) Now I would like for us to push and try and be online at 6pm GMT to make sure these games are up to date. Having up to date articles, and making sure people know about them would help a great deal in making PCGamingWiki ubiquitous with games that are on sale.
  20. Thanks :) they changed it pretty quickly after I pointed it out - a bit of sloppy journalism on their part :P. Article was some nice exposure for the site, although it didn't quite generate as many site referrals as I had hoped. I may move on to contact Kotaku or another big site to see if they would like to take another look at us.
  21. Happy for all these changes to be made.
  22. Hi sorry for lack of reply. The person who wrote the script (Armored Cavalry of CheapShark) and I discussed this at length when the script was first written - the double link on MouseUp is because this is the only way that Firefox would capture and append the affiliate link. It seems like a good compromise to guarantee that affiliate information would be appended correctly. If anyone can rewrite to script to be compatible with all browsers, they are welcome to try. With regards to sitenotice, I have closed the experiment due to lack of user conversions into sales unfortunately (0 purchases made over a week).
  23. It's a same I couldn't get to this earlier as I had the most hectic day ever.. and it now looks like PC Gamer has a pretty good preview up on their site.
