Help with graphics for regular features
Andytizer replied to Andytizer's topic in Development (concluded)
hungry_eyes has done a wonderful version of the What Are You Playing graphic: Pridit is adapting his own graphic here for the weekly Giveaways: Both look really great! -
That's awesome Nicereddy. I also wanted to say I've also been getting into Dota 2 as well, particularly with playing co-op bot matches and watching bits and pieces from The International 3, which has been some of the most exciting gaming I've ever watched. Personally I prefer TF2 (I have around 250hrs with that game). It's just a more casual, drop-in and drop-out experience where the community is more friendly and you can always feel like you're contributing positively to the team. I enjoy Dota 2 as well, but it's not something I can play at the home with family around - my wife would never understand why I couldn't stop Dota for just a second to pass her something or to even just ask me a question (my APM will drop! I'll be feeding the other team!). When I play Dota 2 I feel very antisocial which is ironic for a multiplayer-only game.

Borderlands 1 - I've been playing this regularly with a bunch of real-life friends and we're into aroud hour 7 at the moment. We had the opportunity to start with the sequel but my friends wanted to start from the beginning of the series and complete the DLC. The game has been prety fun as a co-operative experience, although many of the levels are frequently reused and some enemies are just bullet sponges without enourmous HP. Getting an online experience to work reliably has been difficult - the game uses GameSpy to complete the online connections. It's less painful than it sounds in that you can create an account within Borderlands without exiting the game or visiting their website. However, we still get frequent problems with hosting, invitations and lag, even though we all live in London with good net connections. Is this improved in Borderlands 2's Steamworks implementation? Torchlight II - Fun game that I'm playing with another real-life friend. We've probably spent around 3 hours playing through it so far. Combat feels generic and disappointing compared to how visceral and physical Diablo 3's combat is. Also, the number of skills and skill trees combined with the lack of ability to respec makes that aspect quite daunting. I'm quite worried about creating a character that'll be completely gimped by the time we get to the end-game.

A community discussion about what you've been playing (any PC game old or new). Some suggestions: Why did you decide to play the game? Are you enjoying the experience? Is the PC performance good? Link to the relevant wiki article No spoilers please.

PCGamingWiki redesign and new features
Andytizer replied to Andytizer's topic in Development (concluded)
Here's our wrapper div: #wrapper { margin: 0 auto; width: 87% !important; min-width: 1250px; position: relative; } The max-width is not defined, but basically it will go up to 87% wide. Are you suggested we set a maximum width? The last time I suggested this it didn't go down too well (although this was about a year ago) - people really hated the idea of fixed width website! -

PCGamingWiki redesign and new features
Andytizer replied to Andytizer's topic in Development (concluded)
I have increased the min-width from 1200px to 1280px for desktop views so this should fix that issue for you. I use 1366x768 primarily so this has fixed that issue for me too. The other thing we could probably do is make the tables a bit more 'squishable' so that it doesn't have that odd behaviour - the Video settings template does collapse a bit and we should get the others to do the same. -
It's im the NeoGAF article at the top as the external link at the top of this article.

After implementing the lovely new Forums, I took it on myself to improve PCGamingWiki skin to help integrate these aspects together to create a better user experience. Building in the forum's navigation was not an easy thing to do, but after much development it is now ready to be used.A list of new features: Full single-sign on (SSO) - use the same account to login to PCGamingWiki and our Forums Comment in our News section (like this article!) using the same account. Files - upload, sort and rate obscure PC game fixes. Gallery - upload screenshots. Image comparison slider for Forums and News BBCode (see below). Some things we are working on: IRC autologin (nearly there) New editorial system for uploading your own articles and promoting them to the front page. New Wiki Home page. Please report any bugs by commenting on this article. Here's an image comparison shot of Saints Row IV: The code (you can also use the button in the editor, in between the speech icon and h2): [compimg]http://community.pcgamingwiki.com/uploads/gallery/album_2/med_gallery_1_2_53704.jpg|http://community.pcgamingwiki.com/uploads/gallery/album_2/gallery_1_2_39639.jpg|800|450|FOV stock|FOV modded[/compimg] Click here to view the article

This is kind of really great news as I hate the saving system for GfWL titles and it was honestly putting me off playing the excellent Batman games. I recently completed BioShock 2 which I played right after BioShock Infinite. However, I had trouble getting GfWL working so I disabled the GfWL requirement and played it fully offline. I was disappointed that because of this, I wouldn't be able to try out the Minerva's Den expansion which I've heard is excellent - maybe I'll finally get the chance to do it now it's coming to Steamworks.
