    This is a great idea. Notes about VirtualStore redirection are now displayed for Windows paths pointing to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, %WINDIR%, and <path-to-game>. Feel free to suggest any improvements to the wording or other path types that need notes.

    Proposal: Restructure articles with 'Overview' to replace Key Points, Essential Improvements, General Information Key points was designed to be a way to add statements that would be quantitatively verifiable and individually moderated easily. It occupies the top of the article and is the first thing visitors read when viewing an article - it implies that this is the headline top information. However it currently suffers from an issue where people fill out lines for the sake of having a line, and includes information that is far from ‘key’ eg {{++}} Game uses 7.1 audio. Or to include {{--}} negative points just to 'balance' out the top of the article, where it is not warranted. Secondly I would like to push PCGW to contain more Wikipedia-like information that is qualitative, with a focus on technical and quality of life information. Back in 2012, I was afraid we wouldn’t have the policies and manpower to correctly moderate large blocks of text. However I think we are in a good position to do this now with a healthy active moderation team. This would also vastly improve its 'SEO' quality and push PCGamingWiki articles from average slot of 11th space on Google to possibly the front page. This will attract visitors and editors and make the entire site more useful. Here's a draft General section example (no 2nd level header), that would go at the top of the page: General information - instead of a long rambling list of everything, we move this under the Infobox. Rename to "Support Resources". Remove things like wikis, official websites - this section should be for things like 'authoritative threads', forums, etc. where users can expect to find answers to technical questions about the game.

    This fixes the following issues with Gothic and Gothic II on Windows 8 and later: Window border visible in fullscreen mode Low frame rate in fullscreen mode Extract anywhere and run install.bat to apply these fixes. Any previous versions are automatically replaced if present. This works by applying the following compatibility fixes to Gothic.exe, Gothic2.exe and GothicMod.exe: ForceSimpleWindow (hides window border) DXPrimaryEmulation -DisableMaxWindowedMode (fixes frame rate isssues) This fix does not remove Gothic's default frame rate cap; refer to its page for a separate fix for that issue. This fix will also work with Gothic Multiplayer (other mods that change the executable might not be affected).

    Download the archive meant for your aspect ratio, unpack it and point the patcher at \TSCGame\Binaries\Win64\TSCGame-Win64-Shipping.exe within the game folder. This will match the FOV to the default 16:9 vertical value and remove the pillarboxing from the dialogue scenes. Tested at 2560x1080, 3440x1440, 3840x1080 and 5760x1080.

    This have been on the backburner for a while. I usually just tell users to use /row/developer with an appropriate second parameter instead: {{Infobox game/row/developer|My Famous Game Studio|Microsoft Store}} The porter row is currently tied to what PCGW sees as OSes, and trying to fit in /platform “ports”/ on that row is probably going to be a headache. It also isn’t as relevant information since the work done is typically far less minor (usually just involves replacing one library for another, or hooking up calls to replacement calls, etc). I recommend we simply formalize the use of the developer row in the few cases where another studio worked on one of the platform releases.

    Microsoft is running the MixPot promotion again: watch the Xbox E3 stream on Mixer (from the Mixer Xbox channel or through the app) and sign in with a Microsoft account to get free games/DLC. See the Xbox MixPot FAQ for details. Last time it was only games/DLC for consoles, but since they will be talking about the PC this time there might be some PC goodies.

    The case of Chaosbane is confusing because there were reports by people buying the standard edition and playing it on the 31st. In general, I don't think it's of much value to have a separate field for games that have this type of pre-order early access. Even if we do implement it, unless we name it "pre-order release date" or something as clear, we'd still need notes on how the date is tied to pre-orders only, and this need for extra notes means we might as well just keep delivering this information through notes only. I don't think it's that common to offer early access as part of pre-orders but you can correct me if I'm wrong.

    The Music Volume mod doesn't work if you use the JP VO as is. To make it work, you hafta edit the .bat file and remove all mentions of "/usa". Big copypasta derp right there 😛

    This particular software seems to be picked up by antivirus software for some reason. An alternative 'Borderlands Advance Settings' on this github may be a better alternative, as it has been updated more recently.

    If we are to track the Early Access date of a game, I'd also include a third date in those cases where the developers actively cancel an Early Access game. For example, the developers of a game I purchased in Steam Early Access, The Kindred, announced on 20 January 2018 they were pulling the game from Early Access and purchase as they could no longer develop the game nor easily find an interested developer to continue development.

    This is interesting - I don't see why we couldn't do this, we could also have a counter to show how many days a game is/was on Early Access before being released. It's a good indicator of the development cycle of a game e.g. Star Citizen.

    Because we don't currently have a good way to handle these sorts of supplementary features, I opted to create a new template that allows setting these properties and embeds the results in a {{ii}} bullet point, with the intention of the template being used just below the availability table. The reason why I opted for this and not the Notes section of the availability table was because I believe the field can otherwise become quite lengthy in text if there's other notes that needs to be mentioned there. That said, all that needs to be changed for the template to be compatible and used directly in the Notes field is the removal of the {{ii}} bullet point, and nothing else.     Its lol. 16 bit mode should not be used as it adds noise (dither) for smoothing (quantization feature associated with to reproduce a material of lower bit depth on a higher bit depth of the sound card). Try it yourself to listen to something trite in the 16-bit sound card mode and in 24-bit (but this does not apply to the source of the sound, music or other recordings there ... ). In moments of pause and transition from silence to loud sounds, there will be such background noise similar to telephone. Specifically now, of course, I already have no opportunity to retest this all again. But I think the other day I will repeat the experiments with another laptop. In general, for the purity of the experiment, I would put windows 7 on my PC, where xonar dx is installed, but it’s hard to install this rudimentary on current platforms (kaby lake). Of course, deviations are possible that the drivers have some kind of fixes for the seven and other magic, but in my case the drivers were the same everywhere with the same conditions.
